Windows 8 Lag

I just installed windows 8 and the first thing I installed was, of course, Ace of Spades :D. The game is really laggy for some reason and does anyone what's wrong? Is it a problem with my drivers?

This is normal if you run AoS on Windows 8, it's something about the DirectDraw that Windows 8 uses.

If your computer can run it, have a look at OpenSpades.

lol really? I thought Windows 8 was supposed to give me a boost in fps, not the opposite.

For most, if not all games that run on Windows, Windows 7 would give you more FPS than Windows 8, usually by 1 or 2 FPS though. AoS is a special case, some Windows 8 users reported some serious lagging.

Try changing the properties of the exe files of aos to compability mode (Windows XP any service pack) worked best in my opinion. That's what i did anyways. Also i think tin posted a fix somewhere
