They really should not have dubbed this. Voice acting was already pretty good in Japanese. English dubs ,more than often, make the anime unbearable and just pure utter shit.

Doesn't mean you have to watch them. If you don't like it, just continue to watch it in Japanese..

Oh I meant no offense to the people who do watch them. And yes there are some exceptions. Its just good english voice actors aren't really easy to find

Re dubbed AoT: Meh - I do genuinely prefer subbed to dubbed. I'd be interested to watch the dubbed though just to see how good/awful it might be.

Back on topic then:

The dubbed version, unless they take it seriously, could very well be terrible. Western audiences often mistake the anime genre as one solely for children. However, there has been a lot of commercial success in the genre such as with the Ghibli films (and probably others I'm not knowledgeable enough to point out) so there is hope.

Maybe a good cast will be what makes the series good.

To be honest, I prefer subs over dubs mainly because I'm used to subbed animes or just raw. But also because I sometimes just couldn't stand how the english dubs sounds sometimes... They just don't fit most of the times.

In dramatic scenes, their voices felt very forced, when they voice a comedic scene their tone made it bland...I don't know. But that's just my opinion.

Too be honest, I was laughing throughout the entire first episode, even during Eren's mother's death. It was mainly just the voices of the kids, though. xD
