Download Summer Fields v1.0

This map is intended to be very open, relying mostly on terrain than buildings, and there will be plenty of space to dig as the lowest layer visible is at Z20 (water being Z0) This will hopefully encourage building and gen-map style tactics.

UPDATE: 4 new pictures added. Map is nearly done, just got to add bushes to the woodland and then some minor aesthetic stuff to do and it'll be ready to go.

Updated the main post with some new pics, the map's pretty much finished. Just odds and ends to sort out now.

Map is complete! Hope you all enjoy it. Feel free to post comments or suggestions, and also let me know if you find any floating trees - I've tried to catch them all beforehand but there's a chance that one or two slipped through.

I imagine this map will be used for CTF, TDM and TOW/TC. Babel *may* be a possibility since there's a lot of empty space for to build from and both sides are roughly the same height, but that's up to server hosters.

Sounds good to me! Can't wait to try this map out for myself! I really love the atmosphere of the map. I've always been a fan of natural land mixed with slight amount of human interaction that bent with the land (which is why the two Last Stand maps were IMO the best maps in the game). This map has a perfect balance between nature and artifact. Maps usually tend to have a "center spot" where everyone goes and kills each other. I can't seem to find one here, except maybe the road intersection... but that seems like it would be a team spawn so it wouldn't work as one team would have the advantage of spawning right at the place. This would make it very scattered, where it's sort of a survival of the fittest type map. Maybe Free for All would work well here? Babel sounds like a maybe though, because the gamemode likes lots of flat land in certain spots which seem to be covered in trees. The tower of babel should be built right at the spawn but you might have to take a walk before you could get to any spot where you could build a tower. That would make for interesting gameplay. Of course, it's probably one of those things were you have to try it out for yourself to see if you like it or not. The other gamemodes listed would blend in perfectly with the map, I'm looking forward TC on here!

The server was my pleasure :) I only put it down because I thought Ace of Spades 1.0 was going to take over, and 0.75 would be no more after they shut down the masterserver. I didn't want to put it back up because I noticed that there was no post for it here, so I thought maybe you didn't want it up?

I enjoy natural maps as well, which is why most of my maps have nature in it somewhere. I find that voxel environments can still feel rather realistic if done right, and have their own charm which polygonal-based environments never seem to have.

Having no centre spot was a design choice, it means it's up to the players to create their own centrepiece and defend or attack it, which is where a game like AoS flourishes. The junction actually will probably provide little in the way of an advantage to whoever holds it since it's in a corner of the map which is out of the main attack routes (teams spawn in the fields to the sides of the road, not on the main road itself), and it's easy to get up to either side of the bridge anyway.

As I said, it's really up to the server host to decide what game modes to use with this map, since most maps are compatible with most game modes (such as my map Oasis being used for Babel). Only maps designed specially for a specific game mode, like Arena maps, aren't as flexible.

The reason I don't have a post where you can download Last Stand is because I no longer have my own server, and it would mean that, for every little change, I'd need to pass around the code to server hosts rather than just test it myself until it works well enough. It also means that I don't have direct access to the debug text which is invaluable when trying to work out why things don't work. Yes, I could be given it by hosts, but it's better on your own server when you can actually see the causes and effects of a bug.

Glorious new map Influx! Always Inspiring me to continue my pripyat map with Giant buildings in it. That being first model, i have 5 others. Will have to render them all in one pic. Problem is that i can't make a proper layout. Maybe it shouln't be flat, but then it wouln't be pripyat. Or maybe the whole idea is crap but i still want to do something with those buildings.

However with half dead ace of spades and huge decrease of players i really lack motivation on doing something.
