Shotguns horribly underpowered, or is it just me?

Actually, I use the OS shotgun with the png sight from .75.
In-game name: HawkbitAlpha

I don't really use it un-scoped that often, so I can't say for sure.
My shotgun from .75 didn't even have irons (the gun model was dual-wielded shotguns, and the scope was replaced with a crosshair), which might explain something.
