Mostly Venator's thoughts on mumble.
A system so players are match against equally skilled players. So they wont smash the noobs or be destroyed by Vets.
Points are earned through team victories. +10 for wining 0 points for tieing and -10 for losing.
These points are individual and out side of the leagues. He talked about a way for individuals to get a bonus points.
Player with higher points wont play against players with lower points.

Indeed.
I'll try and expand the idea abit:
With authing in place we could do some stuff like matchmaking.
Have 5v5 matches with leaguerules at any time you want.
And to make it fair and fun for everyone we'd have a pointsystem in place.
For example everyone starts with 50 points.
If you loose a game you loose 10 points,if you tie you dont gain or loose and if you win a match you get 10 points.
We could have extrapoints for example +1 point when you are the top scorer on your team or +5 points when all 4 teammates award you for your good teamwork or such.
With those points you could divide the players into "ranks".
So people between 0-100 points will be matched against eachother, while people between 1200-1300 points will be matched against eachother.
There should be a limit on points, lets say 2000 so people between 1900-2000 points would therefor be the best the system has to offer.
This would ensure that everyone has fun and challenging match with people of their skill.
Noone has to fear getting stomped by the "pro"-players while the good players dont have borign matches of just slaughtering noobs.
Hope you guys like this idea and if you do feel free to expand upon it.

So this is much like how CS:GO does their competitive matchmaking except for AoS.

Not a new gamemode but a way to play competitively without being discouraged by players who are better than you and bored with players who are worse than you.

So what kind of infrastructure do we need for this?
I am assuming a client that connects to some kind polling server. The polling server would do the match making and then ping a match server to create a game server and then everyone joins and has fun.
Is that over complicating it or do we need to consider more?

This sounds amazing, can't wait for it to be implemented.

So will this only work with the BnS launcher?
I'm using Spadille to connect to servers so just wondering.
