Well,
Snow is fucking awesome. Doesn't bother me too much, but sometimes gets in my view (which just adds up to it's awesomeness). It doesn't fall inside buildings. The only things falling particles lack are: horizontal speed and direction, vertical speed, particle size.
Aiming is easier and doesn't hurt my eyes so much. I can even get a headshot at half fog distance!
Weapons are pretty nicely balanced, except that shotgun might be useless at times and HMG is an "Ultra Fast Spread Gun".
from ym POV both GM and LeCom did/are doing a great job, so please stop throwing your shit at them. Not really sure about yvt, as OS is flawed...
thank you, someone with half a brain. if you could code i would be doing backflips right now

heh heh

If snow had no horizontal speed or direction, particles would stick in air xd
Bigger particles would be shit - already tested. Because I was like "oh fuck it needs snow gonna quickly throw some shit in" just before I was going to release, I didn't add wind because I forgot that.
Shotgun mainly exists for Morphman <3 and I don't see any disadvantages in the HMG being a super fast spread gun.
And finally someone realized that OS is shit and why.

Well, the HMG's spread is ridiculous. Might wanna fix that?

I can imagine the spread doing a weird impression, but intensive testing approved it the way it is right now. Balancing is one of the main targets of vxw, I don't think I would let it stay like that if it was OP or overnerfed.

OS sucks, because I don't need to compile from source to make an e s p. Sad thing is "teamColor" doesn't seem to be working, even on older releases. I like OS for possibility to make extremely good looking models and their animations (though that part isn't polished either). It is more of an eyecandy right now than a solid gameplay experience.

HMG seems to be MG42, which fired from 900 to 1500 RPM.
I'd suggest reducing HMG spread, RPM and block damage (maybe even zero it).
So it would be something more like M2HB, which fires at about 500 RPM, thus is more controllable. Long bursts (as I have told you before) would heat up the barrel, thus decreasing bullet speed, damage and precision.

Well I know C++, but it's a long way till I do my own game. I tried compiling OS on both Windows XP and Ubuntu, but after messing around with hell knows what I gave up

If I could code decently then I would be doing frontflips and backflips all over.

to me it looks more like an m1919 with a stock, and yes those were standard issue. just play CoD 3. you'll see.

That's the point of Open Source. Forks are encouraged.
LeCom

That's one of the reasons why it's not opensource. Forks would fuck up a game with so few players.

I would agree. OpenSource has it's advantages and disadvantages. At this point, let's try and fill a server first :)

Yep. Btw, I have to go to holidays for a bit more than a week, departing now. I won't have internet during this time. Bye, see you soon again.
