Yeah, this is old news, and kind of an old thread, but since it got bumped: The main reason nobody's bothered making a pyspades fork compatible with 1.0 is because 1.0 is just bad. On top of that, I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex tried to sue anyone who did it.

I do wonder if everybody who committed to that repo assigned copyright to mat^2 or Ben, because if not we could nail jagex with a GPL violation which would be HILLARIOUS. I know Triplefox said there was some sort of agreement, but I wonder what others had to say.

If my code is in there and I can successfully argue that the agreement they tried isn't valid, then they'll be eating hostile takeover pie for breakfast.

I'm pretty sure they tried to come to an agreement with everyone who contributed, although I don't think that actually happened in Grease's case.

Well they did try... somewhat. And then eventually they just cut communication. I have not been paid a single cent.

They can try to sue people.

They can't tell the difference between their arse and a hole in the ground. They can't playtest with willing volunteers and they can turn ambivalent fundraisers against them. They can try to sue... but they, allegedly, tried to improve on good game.
