Hey guys!

Do you think that openspades will have their very own separate servers?

I'm not sure if yvt is going to add that functionality, but seeing how it's open-source someone else could probably do that if they wanted.

We have a script that can detect which client you use so it is on the way

It's only a matter of time until servers start doing things that will require OpenSpades. We'll be updating the Build and Shoot server list to distinguish those OpenSpades-only servers.

So, I am curios, why would it be important that open spades will get their very own servers? Is it because you get disadvantage when playing open spades opposed to ace of spades? Or is it because open spades is going in a different direction?

Because OpenSpades has virtually unlimited possibilities that can't be reflected by the original Voxlap client. When OpenSpades grows beyond the realm of Ace of Spades Classic as we know it, servers will have to be updated to support those new features, which won't be compatible with the Voxlap client.

The reverse is true though; OpenSpades is and always will be compatible with servers that are also compatible with the Voxlap client.

We no longer control Ace of Spades, it, and all its components, were purchased by Jagex, so we cannot work on AoS, and it will never be updated and will always be the same .75 and .76. Openspades on the other hand, has updates, and pretty much since we have the source code, there are unlimited possibilities to what we could make.

Sounds like a good idea. Hopefully it'll happen soon.
