So I came across this intervention gun model, and though that there could be some improvements

Wow, this looks cool.

But what did you use to make the picture like that, and is there a tutorial for that?

You mean the shadow? Its just a simple effect on photoshop.
I just took a printscreen of the gun in slab6 and edited in with photoshop cs6
using the magic wand tool to remove the background
At the bottom of the appication there is a button "Add a layer style" looks like "fx"

when you double click that button it opens a options tab with a list of different effect you and use. The one I used for this preview image is called "Drop Shadow"

You made this gun 2 times better :D Good job!
(And I'll try to find the matching effect in GIMP, because that looks good)

Still not too happy with it, I might have released it too soon, keep updated with this thread for more updates!
