Well first off the AWP does 82 in 1 to a players lower hitbox (you'll hear the term "legged") so it doesn't kill you when you're shot in the legs.

Secondly, the AWP has an incredibly low rate of fire and even slightly slower in CS:GO than Source. Plus, I believe in this game the AWP is still a little messed, coming from high end competitive source it just doesn't feel right. And rifles can easily deal with AWPs in most cases if you can shoot. Just keep practicing.
