Stop counting the posts. 1000 will happen when it happens. Do NOT post just to say "1000 posts".

I guess for the Windows build I *could* make a MessageBox() pop up saying "check stdout.txt for instructions" or something?

I'm afraid I don't quite understand this. Because 1k posts is a huge achievement, it deserves to be recognized. jDrew had the 1kth post.

It's not really important at all, and not that huge either. Also, it's made less important when some of those 1000 posts are simply people saying "almost 1000 posts". Quality is far more important than quantity, which you (and now I, ironically enough, with this post) are diluting with pointless posts about the post count.

In an attempt to make this post a little more on topic:
In regards to kicking, it would be good to display a kick message to the user, even if it is just "kicked", so they know it didn't crash, although preferably "Kicked: <reason given by server>", with the reason in this case set to "Read the manual".

For an actual kick, rather than a clientside quit, we'll need some sort of client.hook_kick thing. That abort()/TODO thing has been there for far too long.
We can handle the kick_on_join thing as it stands right now without updating the client, though. (Replacing client.hook_tick / client.hook_render should work just fine.)

1000th post went to UnrealIncident actually, but we're far off the 1000th not-shit post.

After a 1000 posts what do you think is the signal to noise ratio to useful post to non-useful post

Looking at the Iceball game, I'm wondering if what the developers are going to do about the zoom-in animation. Is it going to be a .pmf sight, or a .png?
