[MAP] Storage Island

Storage Island!

Storage Island by Jdrew! This is my first map so I hope it isn't too bad for you guys. When making this map I was trying to make a map that stood out from other maps but also had a lot of gameplay elements and thats just what I did. I do feel a bit ashamed of the amount of time I took making it but it seemed to play pretty well. The map is a group of islands put together, on the island is a lot of cargo crates which give great cover and also add to the gameplay. Water damage is off but I don't think you will see many people using it, if they do it would just make it more fun. The map is intended for CTF and TDM, enjoy!

For me it feels too cluttered. Even though it is not a full size map, I feel that playing with anything less that 20 players would be really boring as it seems so easy to pass another player. The actual crates are shaped weirdly and the colours don't really suit. The idea is pretty good but the execution is not really top notch. But, good try for a first map Green_BigSmile

Its meant for 25 players, I tried messing around with the colors but it seemed like I would have to start all over so I just left it. Thanks

Looks nice. For a first map, I couldn't have done better I'm sure. (I haven't made a map yet though)

An A for effort. But, as far as that white stuff goes, I don't like it. You are correct that it's a pain in the butt to re-color a map. You could either paint each block again in voxed, which can be an arduous task, or you could try repainting it in pyspades map editor, which is going to probably cause more problems than it would remedy. Another thing you could use that might work but with unpredictable results would be to use the "spray" ('P' key) texture command in voxed. I've never really seen anybody do much, if anything, with this function and yet it seems to have so much promise. I used it to spray the flag decals on top of the opposing sides buildings on Urban Tank Fight. Just a thought. Keep up the good work, jdrew. The intricate paths in the terrain and storage boxes (or whatever) look pretty interesting. We'll make a mapper out of you yet.

Don't necro maps, it ruins the popularity of other maps.
