The program allows you to generate landscapes with different climates, therefore I decided to create whole map packs based on the single biomes.
I'm going to add new map packs every once in a while, so stay tuned!
those look pretty cool, they are probably fun too. nice job

Yea, they would probably be fun to play on. a little different from classicgen.

Nice! Really love the water color. What did you generate these with?

thx guys,
I used a software called "L3DT" to create those maps
You can download it here: http://www.bundysoft.com/L3DT/downloads/standard.php
You just need to enter some values in the beginning and the programm can calculate a heightmap, a lightmap, a terrain map...
It's really easy to use

Cool! I've never heard of it yet, but I might check it out sometime soon.

They look awesome, similar to classicgen but completely different at the same time.
The only downside is that the water on the colourmap starts a few layers higher than the actual heightmap water, which bugs me, but it's purely aesthetic and won't affect gameplay.

Those maps would be fun to play around with! I'd prefer to see a little more symmetry, but that shouldn't be a problem. I think Babel would be cool on these maps as you would actually get high enough to enjoy the simple beauty of it all. Anyway, I might play around with that software a bit... we'll see.

Wow, these are absolutely great. How did you generate them, if that's what you did.

Definitively, worst part is they'll rarely be played on due to the short attention span of so many players here.

yeah. I was trying to play this game again today, but most of the servers in my area play really boring maps. it'd be nice if there were more interesting ones, or one that always did those pyspades gen maps or whatever.

I see now what you mean, Lostmotel, about the water level being a bit off. You may realize this but it'd be relatively simple to adjust that with photoshop or something. You could select the black water level in the heightmaps and then grow the selection by a few pickels and make all of that black. You wouldn't adjust the color maps because seeing the seafloor in the shallows is a good part of what makes these maps look so nice.
