A swamp marsh and an adjacent cave form an inhospitable land where only the looming terror of your opponent is certain. Will victory be achieved by your team's camaraderie? Or will the might of an individual determine this hopeless battle?
Will you wade through the murky depths where your only solace is that you might be alone? Or will you venture over the top and pray you'll be safe? There is no right. Only the dead see the end of war.

Rationale:
  • Cave forms single best path
  • Unfavourable terrain that begs for readjusting
  • One side has advantage of building space, one side has advantage of no hiding spots
  • Random terrain where each voxel is ready to be explored
Features:
  • Uneven terrain to make normal walking troublesome
  • Random cavities making tunneling and walking troublesome
  • Random ground layer making footing uncertain and discourages systematic griefing
  • More exciting holes than movies starring your mother
  • Mind dullingly monotonous terrain with few landmarks
Doesn't provide:
  • Balance (Needs testing!)
  • Focused battles
  • Fun (It's pretty hardcore)
  • Pretty looks
  • Overview
Tools used:
GIMP, Pyspades map editor, Voxed.

I hope my skill improves and I'll make more beautiful stuff. For this map I was going for the easy monotonous organic look AGAIN. Maybe I'll polish it some more in the future (for how it plays; not for looks). If you like the video, I'll do it again for my next map. But I warn you that the quality of the videos will likely not improve. Green_D'oh I didn't want to show too much of the map, because I hope exploring the map will be fulfilling. Fluttershy will definitely hate the map. You're supposed to love to hate this map.
Have fun.

This is a very impressive map. The tropical and aquatic environment seems realistic and really great. Do you have your own server ? Blue_Happy3

Just gave it a play, A+ for trying something new. The music in that video is perfect... matches my mood when I'm exploring around in the caves. Blue_Smiling

Now in rotation on the aloha.pk capture the flag server.

While it is kinda empty, the geography is very interesting and I think could be promising for the future of terrain development if you use it right.

Awesome. Please let me know how it plays (especially if you take it out the rotation for a reason).

If you put it like that, it was my main goal. Green_Happy3
