Some damage indicators I made.

Got bored and made a new damage ring/indicator to replace the original one. Made a few more after that, along with some color variations. In my opinion, the red original shows the best, but the other colors are neat and were no problem to make. People have preferences.

If you want to replace your OS damage indicator with one of these, save the image you want to use as "HurtRing2.png" and replace the old one that's under Resources/Gfx.

Image
Basic [Orange / Yellow / Green / Cyan / Blue / AoS Classic]
This is the first one I made. Simple indicator with a trail off.

Image
Triangle [Orange / Yellow / Green / Cyan / Blue / AoS Classic]
A single, narrow triangle.

Image
Sergeant's Set [Orange / Yellow / Green / Cyan / Blue / AoS Classic]
Just three chevrons with a trail off.

Image
LED Arrow [Orange / Yellow / Green / Cyan / Blue / AoS Classic]
The first silly one I made. Had to fix the dull LED spots as the first set was far too bright (looked like a big block when you took a lot of damage, which is not what I wanted).

Alert! [Orange / Yellow / Green / Cyan / Blue / AoS Classic]
The other silly one I made. It was originally going to be just the exclamation point, but it looked strange.

Cone [Orange / Yellow / Green / Cyan / Blue / AoS Classic]
This is probably my favorite, since it's close to the crosshair. Good for those focused mainly on their sights.

They're quite fun to make, so I'll probably make more here and there. Hope you folks get some use out of them. Also, I considered adding spoiler tags to the images to make the post shorter, but I found it a bit odd. If it's a problem, I'll tag them again.

Nice idea and implementation of it!

I really like these damage indicators, I do wonder. Would they work for the 0.75 client as well?

I'm not too sure, but I can take a look at that.

Also, I'm sorry, I didn't mark it as OpenSpades-centered as I tossed it in the OpenSpades mod section. Sorry if I disappointed anybody, but I'll look into bringing these to 0.75.

Edit: Alright, took me a moment, but I was saving the 0.75 version incorrectly, making it a black box. I'll only be uploading the original red color for 0.75, though, as the bitmaps are 100KB each. There also won't be any proper gradient/fade out, so some may look strange, apologies.

There's AoS Classic variants now. Due to a lack of transparency, they may not look as good as the OpenSpades versions, but they're still fully functional. If anyone has any issues with them, please let me know.

I like this one, gives me a bit of a Metal Gear vibe. That vibe would've fit in nice in the old days where being stealthy mattered.

Blue_BigSmile Green_BigSmile Now you should make some custom hit markers / hit feedback markers

Hey, could you make a cyan version of the first indicator for 0.75?

Edit: Nevermind made it myself.
Very sorry about that, didn't mean to ignore you there. I was on a Borderlands 2 bender for the past few days. Glad that you were able to fix it up yourself, though.

Exactly what I was going for, awesome. As I said, it would have just been the exclamation point, but I felt it was too strange. It's also a bit depressing that stealth's taken a backseat, but I still hope the shovel ninjas use this for the MGS feeling.

After remaking the original OS set for Hot Dog, I was wondering about this myself. I have a few new damage indicators to upload, so I'll pop those up first and see if I can make some neat crosshairs/hitmarkers.

I'm just glad folks like 'em, damn.

Hopefully I'll have a new set of six indicators uploaded at the end of today. I'd already done a few but I took a break from OS and dove into Borderlands 2.
