I haven't played Ace of Spades in the longest while, so I don't actually remember if this is a thing or not, but there's some points where I'm using the SMG and I could swear it's firing faster/slower than normal. Same thing with the spade, one moment it'll be swinging faster than usual, then suddenly right back to regular speed.
Is this a bug? A normal thing? Or have I gone insane?
Fire rates of weapons fluctuating/changing randomly?

I'm using OS, and nope, framerate's beautiful for me. My framerate's not dropping/rising while this is happening, it just seems like some of the weapons gain a burst of increased firerate randomly.
Though this isn't the actual firerate, it's like one moment the SMG fires five rounds per second, then somehow it's able to fire six or seven rounds per second, just briefly. The spade, too. Sometimes I'll just be able to dig a tiny bit faster.
I'm just wondering what's going on here, if it's something that's happened in the original AoS, or if this is unique to OS, or even if it's unique to me. If I can get a proper recording of it, I'll upload and post it here.

I haven't heard of an issue like this before, does this happen on all servers? Is your internet connection bad, lag not frame-rate?

I've noticed it while hosting a listen server and while playing on others, both close (US) and distant (UK), though the majority of time that I've spent has been on my listen server. I'll spend some more time on other servers to see how often the issue pops up there.
As for my connection, it's consistent and fast, far as I can tell. 3MB down, 1MB up (to specify, in bytes, not bits). And thanks much for your patience, folks.

It's strange that you're having this issue, what version of OpenSpades are you using?

Another detail I forgot to mention, I/we play 0.76, not 0.75. I'll try to get a video example of fluctuating fire-rates as soon as I can, and once again, thank you folks for your patience.

Are you sure this is actually happening and not just environmental stuff happening around you giving the impression it is firing faster than it actually is? You'd be surprised with how convincingly your senses can deceive you. Try recording the event and then show it to us.

I've been changing the stats of weapons in TTT for the past year, fire rates included, and I seriously think that my weapons' fire rates actually change on the fly, even if it's the slightest difference.
I will try to get video evidence of this as soon as possible, and once again, thank you folks for your patience.

I've been looking into this, but unfortunately I have no idea what it is.

Welp, if you are suring this is actually happening, then I must say I have not the slightest idea of what might be causing it.
Did you try uninstalling and installing it again?

Alright, I've got a video of this, finally. Two things to note: sorry for how derp my damned voice is, and also, sorry for the dead audio while sprinting. Had Shift as a secondary push-to-talk key thanks to TTT.
As always, thanks for your patience, and hopefully this proves it exists. Though I only recorded the SMG at this point, I can confirm that the same happens with the spade, it's just slightly less noticeable. I haven't seen it in the Rifle or Shotgun, but this probably stems from them being slow as hell.
@bullets: No problem, I owe you a huge thanks for looking into it right off the bat, even when I had no evidence.
@CommieBuffalo: I could re-download 0.0.10 again and see/record if that makes a difference.
Also, if you want a direct comparison, here's an .OGG attachment of the SMG during its slow and fast fire rates.

I can definitely see the difference, I'm still trying to find the 'cause for it though...
