1/ Download OpenSpades
2/ Game flickers like crazy/disco
3/ Change team/weapon
4/ Sound is cracking
5/ GL error
5.1/ Map Shadow Renderer error
6/ How do I use the PNG sight like AoS?

Solutions Blue_Sunglasses1
1/ Download OpenSpades
You can get OpenSpades in HERE. Also, Fawad made a nice video on how to get and play it. You can watch it below.
2/ Game flickers like crazy/disco
This is a issue for 0.0.8 and 0.0.8b. There are 3 ways to fix this.
a/ Set r_srgb to 0
b/ Set r_water to 0 - This will make the water looking plain like AOS/BNS 0.75/0.76 client.
c/ Set r_modelShadows to 0 - This will darken your screen

3/ Change Team/Weapon
Press L

4/ Sound is cracking
Audio engine seems to be overloaded. This may be fixed by
disabling HRTF. (this is disabled by default)
disabling EAX.
lowering Sources (but not less than 64)
give CPU more time for audio processing by disabling Global Illumination and exiting other applications.
5/ GL error
This is a generic error. If you caught a error similar to this, please don't shy to try to do these (thanks Greasemonkey)
Set AA to FXAA - failing that, set it to None.
Set lighting to Medium, and shader effects to Low.
Enable Lens Sim, Soft Particles, and Blood.
Disable Global Illumination.
Disable EAX.
If none of them works, please report to yvt by doing these.
- Enable OpenGL error detection by setting r_ignoreGLErrors to 0 and try reproducing the problem.
- Report the issue at github. Don't forget to attach SystemMessages.log to your post. In Windows 7, SystemMessages.log is located at %appdata%\OpenSpades\Resources.
5.1/ Map Shadow Renderer error
If your error has a line similar to this
Code: Select all
spades::draw::GLMapShadowRenderer::GLMapShadowRenderer(spades::draw::GLRenderer*,
Then it is a specific for 0.0.8b clients and before that. Please download this and overwrite your current OpenSpades folder.

6/ How do I use the PNG sight like AoS?
Starting from 0.0.9, you can modify your weapons to have PNGs as iron sight.
*First, download this: http://yvt.jp/files/programs/osppaks/pngsight.zip
*Then extract pngsight.zip.
*Copy semi.png, smg.png, and shotgun.png into the Gfx directory.
*Copy Gfx and Scripts folder into the Resource directory.
more to comes, if I know what is wrong and how to fix

What I posted pertains to an Intel HD 3000 GPU (in some of the Sandy Bridge CPUs), and should get you good performance on that. It might suck on your GPU if it's not one of those.

However, the main thing...
If it doesn't work, the first thing you should do is set AA to either FXAA or None.
Intel GPUs before Ivy Bridge (HD 2500, HD 4000) don't support MSAA.

I am having a problem with this as well, i get no errors within the clients logs, yet the program just stops working before any downloading can occur. im running on intel hd 3000 graphics as well, with all the necessary opengl requirements.Changing settings gives no difference to the game as well.
