How to remove Muzzleflash and Smoke?

Muzzle flash and smoke are causing big lag spikes, i want to remove them manually, what files do i need to delete/edit ? I'm using topoespadongs13. NoLeaf clover 2015.11.19 only removes smoke, but the muzzleflash is the main problem for me, it also adds an anoying blur when shooting, which destroys my aim so i won't use it.

Hmmmmm
If you want tpsd13/15 fixed, you could try looking for it's source code, then I could fix that up easily so you have tpsd.
If you don't have source code/don't want tpsd/want latest version of OS, then I'll take the latest .12b from GitHub and fix that.
You choose

you could do it on the latest 12b but i hate the sprinting animation & stuff, i loved the classic feeling in topoenspadongs, but unfortunately i don't have the sourcecode :(

You loved the classic feeling? Can you show/tell me what the animation is like?

The gun animation while sprinting is the same, but the screen isn't shaking
edit* the gun is also not shaking

Thank you very much! Im getting an error message when i start the .exe (do i have to extract these files into the sourcecode? i hope not, i have absolutely no idea about compiling sources, don't blame me xD) I just extracted the files into the downloadable .zip 'for windows' hope that is correct, thank you for helping out anyway :)

Can you give me SystemMessages.log? Or at least a screenshot of the black console window...
You should create an unmodded OS directory and paste this one over it.
Folder structure should look like this:
OpenSpades/Resources/Scripts/Weapons/
OpenSpades/Resources/Gfx/Semi.png
OpenSpades/aceofopenspades.exe

Ooooooh it's one of the features
I see it might lack some more stuff, so I'll fix it a bit better.
EDIT: Fixed, same link
If you are not avare of GitHub, there are new features like distinct semi/smg/shotty player map icons.
So, Jigsaw, have you tried this out yet, does it work?
If you are interested, you could give NLC a shot...

It works. No muzzleflash, but grenades, and other smokey objects still lag pretty badly

Strange that they still lag...
But are they any different from the vanilla ones? They should be different...
So if they still lag, join a server and write down the following:
"/r_dlights 0"
"/opt_particleNumScale 0"
"/opt_muzzleflash 0"
This enables maximum FPS boost.
Also if you use software rendering, try "r_swUnderSampling", the more the better.
