Hey, I decided I'm going to do custom player models, but I don't know what to do with the color. I know the colors you want to change you leave black but wouldn't it also affect the eyes? I'm pretty sure there is no scripting involved so can you guys help me out here? Thanks.

Eye colour is not same as body colour. Body colour is 0 0 0, eye colour is 1 1 1 or 2 2 2.

Not really sure what you are talking about. I use slab6 and for color, there is just a whole palette. I'm not really sure how to apply the 1 1 1 code or whatever it is. (I'm still new to modding)

Press <Enter> to make palette more customizeable. Then press <123 456> on numpad to modify colours.
0 0 0 or 1 1 1 is RGB colour code, meaning Red Green Blue.
