Well, changing the name is easy. Go to your serverlist in openspades press the setup button on the bottom, And change your name! :D Making it faster? Idk.

No, I am asking for him to be more specific. Which options to change? Because likely this guy doesn't want to screw with OS. So I am asking, is there any specific options that would reduce lag?

Funny for me, software renderer lags like heck. Plus, when I try and run it now, it crashes.

I have never tried software mode, my PC runs OS fine.
Just set everything to low, unless your PC is total complete crap.

Lol, my computer is crud. But it manages to run small maps with water surrounding it...
