HI THERE!

Anyway, I found out about openspades, downloaded the latest version, and the base launcher is running like the baby of a turtle and a snail (Though, my computer is awful.)

Is there anyway to make it run faster, or do I have to tough it out.

Edit: Great, now my .pak files are boned up. Anyone also know how to reset a default program for a .pak?

Are you running Windows? Not sure about official binary packages for windows, but this issue appears when you compiling openspades from source with DEBUG configuration.
My workaround to this was compiling openspades with RELEASE configuration.

I understood like none of that. All I did was download the openspades package and run the game. Do you know how to open the system config for 0.0.11? And I still don't have a fix for the .pak files.

Anyway, all I had to do for the launcher was hit space during the startup to open system configure. For the .pak problem, http://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-unabl ... -windows-7

Here is the weird thing for me:

I run openspades 0.0.9 and .8 excellently, but, for some reason the newer versions are so laggy. Can anybody help me? (P.S I am running a laptop)

Are you using the software renderer? For some reason that actually makes the game run slower.

what is software renderer?

Normally, OpenSpades would use OpenGL to render the game's graphics. Software rendering uses a software renderer that makes the game look like the original Voxlap AoS.

OK. so where do I get it?

Hold spacebar while starting. Select OpenGl instead of software renderer.
