Idea:
Not trying to copy minecraft or anything, but when you click F1 the HUD disappears, when you click it again it reappears, I'd like to see this in OpenSpades, it would make everything alot cooler, especially when you're recording,
on another note, I'm make a OS "cinematic trailer" or whatever you want to call it, and having a remove HUD button would be awesome, (I assure you it's not going to be crap, I use sony vegas, and you can't go wrong if you know how to use it).

I have an Idea (no shit), since aos' weapons were derived from real weapons, how about I (or anyone willing to help) make other weapons that resemble their counterparts? Very simple & minimalistic, just like aos, plus it'll be a piece of cake.

Great idea! I would be willing to help guns you could base them off of.

Well, I suppose we are going to remain with guns in the Korea-Nam era, so I guess a nice suggestion for the LMG would be a M1918 BAR or a M1919 Browning if you guys want a heavier, stationary, machine gun.

Okay,

im just going to jump in and say: heli's? tanks? not gonna work. never ever. if you want that just move up to battlefield. for me aos works because there is (almost) an perfect balance. tanks and heli's will be overpowered the second you will code it. give me some better graphics, and a handgun then im happy.

Pretty sure they won't be added. They're wouldn't be a point in building if someone's gonna greif it with a tank round. Transportation would be fancy though, if the map is big I mean. But other than that, I agree with the handgun and some decent graphics bit :)

Let's first focus on refining it as a client for current AoS servers rather than improving upon it as a game right now.

Some ideas I have for improving the client are:
A better options menu:
The ability to rebind keys easily without going into advanced options would be nice.
Having all options as drop-down menus or sliders in advanced options would also be nice.
An in game options menu would be the best, even if it didn't allow changes to graphics settings.

The ability to switch weapons and teams in game:
Is there something I am missing here? There seems to be no ability to switch weapons or teams without disconnecting and reconnecting to the server. I don't know if I am just blunt or if it is not there.

EDIT: Yeah, I was just being blunt


Proper support for models that are larger than the defaults:
Let's see some HD models! It would be great if it didn't just downscale model's resolutions to the right size and actually allowed for some nice smooth models. There is a lot of opportunity here, you could make the game look way better with something so simple.

as a matter a fact I already made an Israeli style M4 for open spades
as for my ideas first let me say this , openspades is the future
that being said we need some changes
bigger maps (possible transportation)
better options-the graphics qualty etc
more types of blocks- a bunker should not be as weak as a tree
more weapons- im not saying that we need a leveling system, but the three gun system isnt working and before any one objects I showed AoS to alot of my friends but they all stopped playing very soon due to only three guns in there (im thinking around 6+2 for pistols) and it will still be balanced the weapons will go like so...
rifle-regular rifle{smg-regular smg{shotgun-regular shot gun
sniper-95% accuracy 5 hit body kill 1head shot magizen 3{ Machine gun slower ROF less accurate more stopping power large mag{double barrel very strong low mag
and the ability to make our own loadouts apon spawn
and we also need to keep some things
mainly every thing available to every one
and the aiming system
the map
and also the ability to change the skins-it wins alot of people over
im pretty sure im gonna get a lot of flak for this but come on guys openspades is going to become its own game soon keywords
ITS OWN GAME it cant be a AoS classic with a few small tweeks or no one will play it (including me)

IMO, transportation should be coded into Openspades, but it's not enabled by default, so servers can stay the way they've been, or they can be different, this would cause a lot of variety.

what is this for nonsense?
location is controlled by the server and it should always stay so.
transportation is already possible when done from the server.
