Hi,
I have played AoS and recently compiled latest OS(0.0.12) on my system(ubuntu). I am not comfortable with the crosshair a.k.a ironsight in OS. In AoS I remember I just have to change png file and I can get a custom cross hair. But I am a bit confused how to do the same in OS and all these new .pak is something new. I just need a simple cross wire for all both rifile and SMG like in counterstrike. A little help is appreciated! Thanks.

Go to Resources, then go to 'BaseSkin', then Models, and then Weapons. Then you can go to either the Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, Grenade etc...If you want to modify the ironsight of the SMG, Rifle or Shotgun, go to 'Sight1' or 'Sight2'. sight 1is the front sight and 'Sight2' is the rear one. Then, access them by using 'slab6' :
http://advsys.net/ken/slab6.zip . However, I don't know how to make the sight like the one on 0.0.7. Here is a link to how it looked like: http://i.imgur.com/MQUlm4Q.png note that there are no ironsights, like on the latest version.

Here is a useful guide on how to use Slab6: http://www.buildandshoot.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4820

Thanks MaxMan, I was able to extract the Sight1.kv6 file (from /usr/local/share/games/openspades/pak010-BaseSkin.pak) and modify it. It took some time understanding the slab6 editor :D

Ok, I have the new custom Sight1.kv6 file. I have trouble now placing this into the pak file again as I think its readonly. Below is the error.

Error: pak010-BaseSkin.pak is not supported archive

How should I go about this?

Hmmm...I've never had that error before...What I would do is re-install openspades (or get it back to it's original form) then, I would get the specific 'sight' files from that folder and put them into Openspades. I would do that by getting those 'sight' .kv6 files from the mod you made, go into the rifle folder (or whatever other weapon you want to mod) and delete the 'Sight1' and 'Sight2' files that come with openspades. Then replace them with your own custom 'Sight1' and 'Sight2' files. Make sure to name them correctly, by the way, otherwise they will not work. Name them the same as they were named before (Sight1 and Sight2, obviously). I think it should work then. If my instructions weren't clear enough or it just didn't work, type up ''how to install mods on openspades''. NewNukeGaming made a decent video about it, but he was using an older version. Still, it should not be difficult and you access the same files until you get to the rifle/smg/shotgun and then just replace the normal .kv6 files for your own files.

You can use the official png sight mod so you can use your favourite sights from the normal Ace of Spades: https://github.com/yvt/openspades/wiki/ ... wn-Sight-2
