Is there a program wich I can convert PCX files into PNG files?

Paint.NET cant do it. I know GIMP can do it, but I'm not sure about Photoshop.

I got Paint.net but it does not transfer PCX files for editing...

Just use the print screen button

That's... exactly what I said. Paint.NET can't open pcx files for editing, only GIMP and maybe Photoshop are able to do it. I doubt MS Paint can do it, but hey, give it a try if you want.

with paint.net you should just open the file as .PCX and save it as .PNG file .

.PCX files just don't appear for me at all when I try to search for them with Paint.NET, so I assume Paint.NET is just unable to open that kind of file.

There is a difference between assumption for the sake of assumption and reasonable assumption. One leads to world wars, the other is the one all our science is built upon.
I tried to open .pcx files with Paint.NET in more than one occasion, but they open in a pinch with GIMP. It is not like downloading a single piece of software, even if he just unistalls it afterwards, is going to kill him.

installing gimp might just kill him, since its a total piece of crap.
