I'M BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

I doubt anyone here remembers me, judging from how people treat me on servers nowadays , but I just thought I might as well get re-involved in this community, as I have started playing more often again. I am LOVING these new smilies.

For those of you who don't know, I am the original founder of the ORIGINAL [SAS] clan. Apparently many more have been created since I left or something because people recognize the clan tag. [SAS] is now defunct though. I closed it due to my ever decreasing activity in Ace of Spades. But I used to be a fairly prominent player... I think. I've been around since 0.68 and have seen AoS go through many changes (ahemJagexovertakeahem). If anyone here remembers the GoonHaven servers and MinitUS, I was a very well-known player. Though, in all honesty, it's not exactly a good thing in some cases.. ahehe

But besides my return, I really want to know what happened to the rest of the original beta players. It seems the original clans are all gone too. The only one I have seen so far is [TSB]. But what happened to [LDR], [USAB], Komrades, [SPQR], and the rest of them? I'm a little sad that they're all gone now.. I remember players like King, Ducky, Booyo, and Exor. What ever happened to all of the players from the original AoS? As for members of the community, I was wondering where SIMOX, KillerRed7, and the rest of those great modders had gone.

I'm sorry if this no longer belongs here. If it must be moved, then so be it. But I really do want to know where all my old friends have gone. I'd hate to think they've all left. Maybe this post will reunite me with an old pal.

Most players have left that have been playing for one-two years have left. TSB,SPQR, and komrades are all that remain of the old clans before BnS. Simox left after losing interest in early 2013. How ever kodiak returned and made lines which later merged with SPQR. I think booyo still browses the forums but I haven't seen him in a while. I joined late 2012 and there for never herd of [SAS]. Goonhaven shut down its AoS servers and renamed itself while continue to host servers for other games, Minit has shut down from inactivity. As the game goes on people lose interested but at the same time new people come.

SPQR & LINES merged into LINESPQR yesterday. As for the other clans, USAB & LDR are pretty much dead. However Komrades & TSB are still active. SIMOX left about 5-6 months ago and KillerRed9 aka CobaltAK is still somewhat active. Minit isn't dead, the servers are down because they are under construction.
A new Ace of Spades client has also been made, it's called OpenSpades and has improved graphic and it uses OpenGL. You should check it out. Press the forums button and then search for the "OpenSpades" subsection.

Gee. Okay. So Komrades became LINES after Kodiak returned and they merged with SPQR? Heh.. If It's still the same old Kodiak, Tin will probably end up heading all the activity. Is Tin still putting ungodly amounts of effort into the community here?

And I've known about GoonHaven (or GamerHaus)'s shut down for awhile now. I was still here when it happened. Apparently Ben and the rest of the original Beta team pissed off Thalagyrt enough to cut funding for the AoS servers.

It's sad to hear that USAB and LDR are dead though... They were the original clans of AoS. I remember how everyone was using them as role models for new clans. I wonder if Booyo still hates me.

And what do you mean Minit's servers are under construction? Hardware upgrades? I miss the goon_assault maps. They hosted them for a while. I really hope they come back. goon_assault2 is an all-time favorite.

Ben was pretty much dead when GH left -it was Stack & co.
LDR is still around but has nothing to do with Ace of Spades anymore - they help run a neat IRC network, webchat link at http://webchat.minit.nu/?channels=LDR

Minit's pretty much dead. There were plans to revive it but a lack of activity has totally stagnated any progress there. The servers themselves still exist, though, albeit not running. LINES does/did/will run a goonassault server though, as does SPQR and HOMO.

Wat. Nah, iirc the original clans were Komrades, RoT, HK, and Churchill. Komrades are still around in the game, and RoT still exists as an IRC community.

Hey Cipher, nice to see you around again. I do remember you and your clan - you got sub-section around July if I remember correctly. Pretty much what other guys said, after Kodiak (aka Will) left SPQR he started LINES and now, almost 1 year later we have decided to merge. There are few other older clans that are still alive (Komrades, FF, TSB, etc) and few new clans that have a decent amount of activity. Something called "league" exists and it's a competition between teams, season 3 just ended and hopefully season 4 will start soon-ish.

USAB is still alive but we mainly just talk to each other in Skype and play random PC games (although I'm not really as involved as I used to be).

I missed you ;___; And Tin. It's good to finally see old names on pages.. I've been going around on the forums here, trying to acquaint myself with subsections and such and I am just bewildered by how much the community has changed in just the year since I left.
