It has come to my attention that this has been happening quite frequently..specifically on tdm and ctf servers. I'm sure we all know what I'm talking about... ya you guessed it...it's called:ABUSING THE VOTEKICK OPTION! this happens to almost everybody who is handy with a sniper Blue_Rifle Green_Rifle , they go on a game pop a few headshots and before they know it in the bottom left corner of their screen in bright letters a message appears of a votekick on them...
EVEN if they are innocent and doesn't even hack it ALWAYS HAPPENS! so I decided to inform the newer players of why they shouldn't follow this example and how to see if a player is a hacker..

If you are falsely accused of hacking be quick to:
Spoiler:
Find if the server has an irc channel and go and ask to be let back in or something or contact an admin with the /admin command [before you are kicked]
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
So you're on a server and before you know it you're being killed continuously by the same person Blue_Crying ,and almost instantly, you decide to votekick them. I know it is tempting ,but at least see if the person is actually hacking!! which brings me on to the point of this post...

How to catch a hacker

NOTE: Some severs may not support these commands! but you can spectate on all servers.

__________________________
1: The /accuracy command, possibly the easiest way to catch a hacker in the act as most servers have this command.Just type in the chat [If you're super new then use T for global chat and Y for teamchat you use global chat for typing commands] /accuracy [The name of the person who you think is hacking] [Some hackers are sneaky and may have accuracies below 100% so be careful !]

Example:/accuracy Yoloswagster2324

A hacker's accuracy is usually around 300% [Especially if they are hacking with smg]. So if you find somebody with that high of an accuracy then obvious hacker! you should kick them! [Shotgun accuracy can raise above 100% easily though but usually wound up in the 200's]

[Click the spoiler button if you don't know how to kick]
Spoiler:
/votekick [Player name] [reason]
Example:/votekick ultimateslimshadyfan201 Hacker! ch3ck his accuracy!
2:The /ratio command, definetly not recommended and should be your last resort! so if the person is racking up a multiple kills in seconds and their ratio is something like...99% then they may or may not be a hacker. To use the /ratio command then type in the chat /ratio [Person you think is hacking]

Example
Spoiler:
/ratio fukdapopo2992
3:Spectate them! press the comma key on the keyboard and press 3 [On the keyboard as well obviously :/] and you will become a spectator! now use the left or right mouse button until you see the persons name and follow them around [You control the spectating camera like a player] If they seem to be killing dozens of people effortlessly in seconds then they're definetly hacking! [Even so it isn't the most effective way of finding a hacker so I recommend doing step 1 before this]

4:Combine all 3! This is probably the ultimate way to catch a hacker and if they seem to have all the signs of a hacker then you're free to use the /votekick command on them! and convince your teammates that the guy murdering them with the rifle is hacking!

More Notes:
Spoiler:
If a hacker is on your team don't be afraid to kick them!
The top left corner of the screen is also pretty useful if you wanna see who's killing who!
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I hope you have somehow benefited from this post and wont be as crazy with the /votekick option as before!

THANKS FOR READING!

You could just use the /admin command to tell the admins about the votekick abuse, or go to IRC and sort it out with the admins if you're kicked.

Now if the person's accuracy is anywhere above 100% then it's obvious that the person is hacking and that you should kick them!
I wouldn't say the /accuracy command would help you spot hackers much. I've noticed hackers with an accuracy a lot lower than 100%, and sometimes an innocent player gets an accuracy over 100% occasionally, so the /accuracy command isn't perfect.

Not the most effective way of catching a hacker. I'd suggest pubovl by topo or ovl075 by GreaseMonkey.

I tried sorting it out a little
Thanks for the feedback
My main goal is to just really help people get falsely kicked less often ^_^

I'm sorry but discouraging people to participate in votekicks is a bad idea. I just played a game where someone had a ratio of 176 and could shoot through walls. And it went on for hours... The fact of the matter is you can complain that the wrong people are getting kicked but it's the price you'll have to pay if you ever want to get anyone actually banned for hacking. It should be common sense to tell if someone is hacking or not. If it were as simple as autobanning nine year olds and people who scream in all caps then 80% of the game would be cleaned up.

1) The people concerned rarely use the forums so they will be unable to read this.
2) The people concerned usually think very highly of themselves so they will not look at a thread which addresses newbies.
3) Try playing on a server which has people with an actual functioning brain. If there is no such server, just move on to another game.
4) Using /admin may or may not solve your problem, depending on which server and how active the admins are. If no admins are active and anarchy is unleashed, consider finding another server with more admin activity.

Not like vk'ing does anything nowadays without an admin being online.

With all the retards and non-English speakers, your chances of having a successful vk are less than 10%

Go to Aloha. They almost always have active Admins.
Better yet go to 0.76

This is not due to "sneaky" hackers. The script is not 100% accurate (ahem) and often displays accuracies way over 100. This is not uncommon to see, and any admin worth his/her salt wouldn't ban on such wildly inconsistent figures as these are. Plus /accuracy and other commands (like /hackinfo for staff) are not evidence enough of hacking by any means and nobody and I mean nobody bans on those alone, if you do you should be sacked.

Now this is a little more useful, ratio again is not something to ban on alone or even vote kick. Good players do exist and if you play on any of the most populated/well known servers (like Aloha or IceCraft) you are going to run into those players without a doubt. However, high ratio is usually a good way of prioritising who you spectate (even as a regular player using pubovl by topo) and this leads to looking for other clues instead, like for instance displays of no recoil on a weapon or aimbotting. Again vote kicking somebody for simply being good is pretty commonplace and of course people get upset that they are losing. Tough. If you are being out played and just getting angry because you are just not as good as your opponents then leave or start building for your team, nobody will shoot for you and even if you do get something to do so then you've become a hacker.

Honestly, if you want some advice to anybody else who reads this, then I'd suggest visiting the specific servers IRC channel to request help, you can tell a staff member by the symbol before their names in the user list. For example in Aloha's IRC Guards are +v/voiced and display a "+" icon before their name, example if I were +v my name would appear as: "+Juxta". Moderators are also +v so they're the same deal with regards to IRC privileges however they have more in-game privileges than Guards. Admins are marked +o/operator and have a @ before their names, so again this would show as "@Juxta".

If you are actually legit and keep getting vote kicked then I'd suggest applying for trusted for that specific server and if you don't abuse it your chances of other server admins trusting you and giving you the same status on their servers is quite likely.

Thanks.

Ask an admin to delete it for you.
