Today I visited BnS like I do it every day; what did I found?
Advertising for this shit Brick-force!

I think it is not useful if we support another cubic shooter, because we already have
a decreasing amount of players. So I suggest to show other ads.

we do not choose the ads.
google does.

I get tooth fairy adds, and I don't enjoy them. (But you are on a better boat then me)

Just be glad it's not like on aloha forums. Once I saw 'find gay couples in your area' ads.

google's ads are chosen by the sites you go to and the one your click on. When I was looking at VPS's I got VPS ads on build and shoot.

Aloha is using google adsense too so it would be based off of keywords on that site and your browsing habits

I would like to change the direct of the conversation and ask your thoughts on offering a 100% completely voluntary paid subscription to remove the ads from the site, and any future site, and a few other cosmetic upgrades.

We offer a lot of services free of charge the forums, the master server, the bns launcher, the league, and soon to offer authing, anticheat, clan software, pugs+stats, etc. And all of that will continue to be free to all users. Advertising revenue pays for those services but it can fluctuates from month to month. Offering paid subscriptions to those who see value in it and can afford it could be a source of more stable revenue.

I have talked to a handful of people about this privately, and we would want to do is offer a few tiers of subscriptions. And you could subscribe at a tier you feel comfortable with or continue to use everything free of charge but with ads.

The tiers would be bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. Bronze would be a $1 a month. Silver would be $3 a month, Gold would be $5, and platinum would be $8. Keep in mind paypal takes a cut of all the tier amounts.

All tiers would browse the site ad free, and any future site.

All tiers would get a badge at their level. i.e. a gold badge.

If you subscribe at gold or platinum you get a custom title.

I would love you hear people's thoughts on this.

I like it, I might have to actually get a means of paying for stuff online so I could do this.

I don't mind the ads that appear here as long as it's none of that pop-up bullshit that appears every time you open a page.
The ads on the top and on the bottom don't go in the way of checking out the forums. But, it would be nice to have the subscription thing for those who don't like the ads as they are now, as long as the subscription model doesn't limit, the non subscribed user, allot.
Like, for example, non subscribe users wouldn't be able to have sigs or avatars of their choosing. It's just an example, but it's an example of something that would suck.

But lets be honest. People will probably use or are already using ad-block to get rid of the ads.

But, what if the donaters received even more perks? I mean, I think more people would pay for it.
The thing is, just like Demo123, I dont really mind the adds. And again, just like Demo123 said, people can just use add blockers. So, maybe even more perks (simple things, like idk, more smilies) would be better.
It would keep the forums clean, with no shits like in runescape in wich you have to pay to win, just some simple perks some people wouldnt mind buying.

would do it but there should be more perks besides some forum stuff. Maybe letting the subcribers test out future content like the bnS launcher versions that stack has been working on.

anyways, i've been thinking about things we can add for the donators:

Bronze rank:
- No adds
- Access to the bronze posting zone
- Access to some more smilies I can do: (each rank gets more smilies than the rank before)
- Access to a B&S Badge of Contribution "Bronze rank" (I can also do the image for it if you want)

Silver Rank:
- No adds
- Access to the silver posting zone AND the bronze posting zone
- Access to some more smilies
- Access to the B&S Badge of Contribution "Silver rank"
- Ability to a fast search of the most popular threads
- Get a custom title

Gold rank:
- No adds
- Access to the gold posting zone + the silver and bronze posting zone
- Access to some more smilies
- Access to the B&S Badge of Contribution "Gold rank"
- Ability to a fast search of the most popular threads
- Access to more website designs such as "Red master race" or something like that (this could be added to the other ranks too, would be a cool idea)
- Ability to show more than 1 badge at once (max of 2 badges)
- Get a custom title

Platinum Rank:
- No adds
- Access to all the posting zones
- Access to some more smilies
- Access to the B&S Badge of Contribution "Platinum rank"
- Ability to a fast search of the most popular threads
- Ability to some forums stats like "top poster"
- Access to more website designs such as "Red master race" or something like that
- Ability to show more than 1 badge at once (max of 3 badges)
- Get a custom title
- Delete their own posts (this would require many trust, and maybe it isnt a good idea)

And I think thats all,
Give more ideas into this, it will be actually really fun to add this to the forums.

So, I can make some smilies and I also can make some new badges. Hope you guys approve this ;)
