hi yawl

Here's the thing - IWOULD HAVE PAID TEN - EVEN TWENTY BUCKS FOR THIS VERY VERSION, THE ORIGINAL AoS STRAIGHT UP.
Instead I paid Steam $10 for a game I can no longer play due to outrageous ping and lag issues.

THEn I finally found the original AoS - for free. Is the world that rape-tastic that this is even possible? They take a perfectly fine, working game, make it absolutely unplayable and charge you $10 for it??? And every time you search for the original the search is hi-jacked by the new steam version's page???? What the hell were Steam and JAgex thinking??????

Steam - You guys have a great game, awesome community. We'd like to have it on our Steamtard system. Sound good?
JAgex- Sure does!
Steam - but first, we want to make some unnecessary changes that will totally screw the game, and then we'd like to piss off your entire community by being generally disrespectful twats to them.
Jagex - Sounds great! here, let me bend over!!

And that folks is EXACTLY how the meeting went down.

But any way, FUCK steam.

I LOVE THIS GAME.

I've been playing solidly, and there's a few things I noticed in-game that really puzzles me.

1. Grief
I noticed a lot of people changing teams, then behind the scenes digging or grenading forts and cover, then biggering off. Is this kosher? is this an ok game strategy? Seems a bit shitty to me. One game i decided to join in. I changed teams, started griefing and the other team just went crazy angry at me. but it's what they'd been doing the whole game!

Hackers
What are these hacks people are so vigilant about? I did get accused of hacking after a kill streak of 15, but I don't know anything about hacks! I know for sure that because of lag my bullets don't always work. And I hear people calling out hacks all the time. I kind of like it, when someone is accused of hacking and you head shot them anyway. Screw your hacks and accusations! I'll kill you all!!

Teamwork
So far there hasn't been much direct team work. But i try my best. I try to defend builders when i see them, shoot griefers if they vex players on my team, and generally try as best as I can to help the team.
But sometimes there is too much chaos so I become a lone gunman.
I'd really like to play with a good team of fairly disciplined players, just to enrich the experience. I do love the chaos though. Oh and in the viet-cong tunnel systems! Scary...

thanks for reading! Tell me what you think....

it was nice being able to hear another side in this three way love triangle but I feel there is alot of things you don't know. About steam, steam is just a way to market I am sure none of them learned about the ace of spades community. Jagex was the one that bought the game and "changed" it.

With griefers
Yea most servers have them but if you are on well moderated servers like minit or clan servers you should be fine

with hackers
the only people that accuse others of hacking is the people who have never joined the forums or understand the way ace of spades is and tricks you can do to see if someone is actually hacking

with team work
Ace of spades has a nice clan seen, the biggest of those is SPQR,komrades, and bastion. I also run my own community of gamers know as fireguard that has weekly meetings in ace of spades

Ace of spades is a good game and I think the core community can bring it back together Blue_Sunglasses1

That's true, i don't know what's behind the whole business end, and I was shooting off at the mouth.

Thanks for the advice. I'm only a couple of weeks into the game but I am so addicted. Still learning!

That is.. True.

Team Work is being a problem so far, i was playing on a random server, and i started building a 2 blocks high wall for jump shoting with my rifle, next to my base. 5 seconds ago all i can see is 2 people coming with me, breaking blocks fast like hell, more than normal. griefing.
Next Take: I run for cover but i got SMGed while doing it. Hack And Griefer go back to my base grief something else.

I believe we can make Ace of spades the same community again.

Just as a note, Jagex released an update on the 19th, followed by another patch that pretty much cleared up all these lag issues. I haven't had any lag issues since then and I'm on the far edge of the west coast servers and getting 60-90ms ping normally.

If you're in Australia, they're adding Aus servers soon.

If you aren't bilingual, efforts at teamwork are futile because the entire populations of Brazil and Poland play this game.

Who the heck does this? Jebus that is kinda dumb to be jumpshotting over a 2 high wall
Hacker are very very very common in this game as of late. Thanks to a few recent anti-hacking scripts, they are a bit easier to find and get rid of. Griefing is not ok and you will get banned for 30min to a week for doing it on any server with admins/players that type /y
As far as teamwork goes, everyone is either caught up with killing other players, building fairly autistic buildings, or greifing said buildings to actually use teamwork.

First off, you're retarded. Jagex were the ones that wanted to change the game, not Valve. Valve don't do that.

Griefing exists in pretty much every video game, but ones like this (where you can build/destroy the whole map) are the easiest to do so in. There are also a lot of kids that love to do this in Minecraft, and do it here too.

A lot of people accuse anyone better than themselves, on the other team, of hacking. These people are quite simply just noobs who don't know a lot of the tactics of the game, or are just bad plain bad at it, so can't comprehend decent skill.

Teamwork is kind of gone due to the run-and-gun mentality a lot of people go to play with (usually wielding an SMG), and the lack of proper communication (many people don't read the chat, don't speak English, or miss some chat and can't read it because there's no scrollback) makes teamwork for those that want to hard to do.

Everyone i met in my old brazilian clan, here's a video of one of him playing, he did it on almost every server i go, i know they get caught and there are scripts for that, but sometimes they do it before they get caught.

Oh so you were part of TG? Jumping from behind 2 block high cover is stupid and not effective and you should only do that to 3 tall cover. What I see here is crouch popping. My clan spent quite a long time trying to get the hacking and script using members of your clan banned (which included both of your leaders) and I believe we managed to do that when we won that clan match against them

I weren't part of TG, i was friend with some people there, crouching is better, because you can calculate the time you get off cover, and you have more stability while aiming. As i know, TG closed with 7 CF's, 5 victories , 2 draws 0 losses.

May I note, Steam and Jagex never made the original AoS. It was made by someone else other than Jagex. I doubt steam is the problem here anyway.

My thoughts on this thread:
1. It wasn't Valve/Steam that decided to change AoS, it was Jagex.
2. Jumping from behind a 2-block wall is stupid. You should either crouch-spam or use a 3-block wall.
3. AlMualim, the TG clan was notorious for being proven hackers. I saw a video of Korakoff using a first person spectate program to prove he used a no-recoil hack. Therefore, their 5-0-2 clan match record is completely invalid.

Well I don't believe any caps were made although we did touch their intel a few time I think.
Komrades system for match wins and losses is first based on caps, then on kills.
Since we got lots more kills we considered it a win.
TG might have called it a tie because there was no caps.
BUT that match Colorpinpoint and other admin proved that they had very obvious nospread (even though Komrades outshot them with semi and smg alike) and possible wallhacks. The GBL was broken at the time but most the players in the TG team woulda been put on there.
