Well, considering mods are pretty much THE ONLY THING(after scripts) held the players back after so much time. So, why not a modding competition?

Basics
You could make a league, about ~20 or 25 participants, and have the top modders to rate them - and these judges will be voted by the community. A few example: duck_norris, CommieBuffalo, etc.

The competition could be started every month; weapons will be voted by the community.
Weapons are VOTED by the community for the first round, and participants COULD CHOOSE their own mods from the list. Eg.
Code: Select all
List:
Colt M4
Dragunov SVD
P90
Glock 18
Benelli M1014
Each weapons can be choosen multiple times; if someone made the same gun as yours, fear not to worry(actually, start to worry; it's easier to compare this way and you might got eliminated faster)
From Round 1 onwards, competitors will have one day to vote their own list, by posting their desired weapon.
Participants enter by using a already-given form.

Participating
There would be 4 rounds:

Round 1 - Qualifier.
kv6-only. Leave 18 standing. Lasts 5 days.

Round 2 - Mid.
kv6-only. Leave 10 standing. Lasts 4 days.

Round 3 - Semi-Finals.
kv6+png. Leave 3 standing. Lasts 2 days.

Round 4 - Finals.
kv6+png. Lasts 24 hours.

Winner will be given the badge 'Best Modder of "insert month here"'. 2nd and 3rd takes '2nd/3rd Best Modder of (month)', respectively.

Crucial Rules
Several rules i made up:
1- Create an ORIGINAL model. Even if you gave credit, we will still eliminate you.
2- Do not TEAM UP.
3- Models submitted MUST BE packaged in .ZIP(Applied in 2 last round)
4- Models submitted AFTER the time limit WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
5- Competitors doesn't submit mods WILL BE IMMEDIATELY ELIMINATED.

This is pretty much the very basic idea, so if anyone agrees, please give me feedback to improve it.
Also, my English sucks.

Yes.
How would the judges be chosen? Also, what exactly qualifies as a "simple", "medium" or "hard" weapon?

The judges will also be voted by the community.
Weapons are qualified by the amount of detail, eg pistols are medium since they have much details and are hard to model(a few, like the Glock is an 'easy' weapon).
But, what would YOU qualify for weapons?

I think that saying "x or y is a hard/simple/medium" weapon is really subjective. SOmeone might find it really easy to make sniper rifles and find pistols to be really hard to make, or vice-versa. Instead of asking "do x weapon" the judges would make a "list" with one or two Assault rifles, SMG, pistol, etc, in each level, that could be made.

So, competitors 'choose' their mods?
It will be quite hard to compare.

Yeah, there's that... Maybe have one day before each "round" for competitors to vote which weapon should be made?

Sounds good enough. Edited the OP.
Anything else?

Bullshit. It was scripting that saved the game.

Anyhow, carry on. I wonder if I should recreate some of my old skins, or find where the hell they are.

How about a map pack competition?
Anyone remember the halloween custome contest?

But yeah, this sounds like it could be fun. Blue_Happy1

Still, i need an admin to organize this event if possible. This is also just an IDEA, and so it misses many crucial stuff, being more rules, more specific on certain parts, etc.
