what ben is currently doing? is he working on another game or just living a normal life?

He sold the game to Jagex, worked with them for a while, then tried to buy it back.
Didn't work.
Some rumors about Jagex then breaking his HDD, and he subsequently split with them.
AFAIK, Ben's not really doing anything AoS related these days.

Well, when Ben started Ace of Spades, he didn't have a full time job to pay for the monthly expenses of running a game. That is where Jagex came in. He sold the game to them and Ben would get payed for coding the game. The reason this Jagex thing happened so fast is because Ben wasn't going the speed that they wanted to go (which is why .76 was never officially released). And as Reki said, someone from Jagex smashed his laptop's HDD... and shortly after, he quit.
