Well I just copied info from the wiki, I didn't realize there was software out there. People have been over the top... Anyway I am grieving for a family member who has just died so please don't push it...

Can I also just note that can everyone just shut up about it? I now know that the circumstances for hacking are different from what I said. The quoted info is out-dated. I simply copied info from the wiki. I havn't played AoS for quite a while and I have been quite stressed out latley

They are bloody everywhere. I went onto a server that had 5 aimbots. I'm not being childish; I was next to one on my team. It would jump up and get a headshot in the split second it did it. The kill feed had about 18 kills in 7 seconds.

On a properly adminned server it's usually not that bad.

The fool-proof way to tell someone is hacking is that it is impossible to get more than 3 headshots in a row.

I know several foolproof methods, and that method is just asking for trouble.

Some players are just very good and so have an almost uncanny ability for headshots. I know this, way back in 0.15 I got banned for 'aimbotting' when in fact I had a good spot and the team were so stupid the couldn't see me Green_Spade

Anyway, we have to get some sort of anti-hacking software on servers. Any coders out there that would be prepared to make a plugin that somehow detects the software or even simply has a detection system that auto-kicks anyone who gets more than 3-4 headshots in a row?

We have shitloads of antihack on Minit, most of it courtesy of a_girl.
We also have a first person spectate utility which seriously exposes these skids to the light.

Although you make a good point there, wouldn't it be actually kinda unfair for the players who excel solely on the rifle alone?
I've not really played Ace of Spades for that long of a time, but I've seen one or two legit players who can get headshot streaks up to four or five. It'd be better to have a code which checks the time intervals between their headshots, would it not?

Erm... it did say on the old wiki that 3-4 headshots in a row from a certain distance was impossible. I mean, if you jump over a wall and get three headshots in that split second, that's impossible. I didn't contradict myself... I was stating how it's hard to tell and that software would be good. Nonetheless, thanks for informing me of the anti-hack on minit and aloha (which I play on regularly). Just don't be so rude and anti-social about it next time...

lol, 3 headshots; When I don't get 3 headshots in a row I'm a little annoyed at my performance.

The amount of kills or the rate of kills are not really good premises to base an anti-cheat off of. There used to be a script that had something similar, but I remember mikuli on a mission triggering it way too many times. It's more about how they get the kills, where the opponent was, whether they had a line of sight or could easily hear them, did they snap to the player from a weird angle, were they walking normally or were they in scope.. for someone experienced with the game you can generally just feel it after stalking a possible hacker.

That's just plain wrong.

The best way to deal with hackers, as I've seen, is to play on bigger servers such as Aloha or Minit. Then, when an aimbot comes up, record a video and post it on their respective game forums, or jump on their IRC channel and report them.

I see absolutely nothing mean in their posts, they are just kindly correcting you.

The internet is a vile place, and compared to a lot of websites BnS is very clean. I hope you stay, but honestly if you get to uptight about something this small, I can't imagine how useful to the community you can be.
