Something that might stop new players from playing the game

There has been a new design change that might put off a lot of players.
Let's say a new player magically finds this website. He looks at a trailer and decides to give it a go. What does he do?

Well, he hovers his mouse over the "downloads" tab and sees the option to download .75 and .76.
Naturally, he clicks .76. Newer is better, right?

after he is done with installing the game, he decides to find a good server. He hovers over the server tab and clicks .76 servers. Because that's what he downloaded.

However, he only finds two servers. He plays a little bit on one of them, which sadly only has ~5 players online, and the other server is deserted. Well this is boring, he thinks.

He goes over to the .75 serverlist and sees almost 100 servers. He clicks some of them, but naturally can't go in, as he has the wrong version. Worse thing is, when he tries to download the .75 version, he is unable to. Because the game detected that he has a newer version of ace of spades already downloaded. And therefore blocks his access to downgrade.

Anyone else fear this might be a problem?

I know it's possible to downgrade if they uninstall it, but not everybody knows how to. And finding the bns launcher isn't the easiest task for someone new to this place and unaware of it.

Also, here is a graph showing the decline of players playing ace of spades voxlap.

This is a very valid point which I agree should be addressed.

Stop hosting a master server for 0.75 long enough till people start using 0.76.

Solution are easy to think of :)

Or put a bit of extra text next to the version downloads to say which one is mainly supported the most.

Make the default installer the launcher. Make the launcher launcher auto-install the right version if it doesn't exist.

That is the ultimate goal with the launcher. It should be ready soon™. I'll go ahead and forward this message to the appropriate jage.... wait I mean I'll talk to Stack and see where this feature is at.

It will take at least another month, I bet you.

Why don't you change the link to a download page as oppose to giving people the option of choosing 0.76 or 0.75. This page will explain how to download the game versions but for people who are illiterate or choose not to read, first link is the BuildandShoot launcher and/or a video explaining how to use it followed with the appropriate links for 0.75 and 0.76.

I've said it before, but we really especially need just 1 open source launcher, if for nothing else, to speed development up. Our player base is shrinking, and we just don't have time to divide the effort. I am not sure how much an improved launcher will reverse that trend, but it can only help.

I got the launcher, and now I can play both .75 and .76.
But my mods don't work. I put them in the ace of spades folder, but when I play the models are still defaults.

Make sure you put them in the folder you are using for ace of spades though, check by going into game installations on the launcher and clicking view on disk.
