Fix Solution - Lows FPS

Hi guys.

I was playing AoS in my PC (It's not a great PC) with many many screen lag, 15-20 FPS. I know some people and they play AoS too, with excellents computers and they play with screen lag too.

I read some players here in forum saying ''I can't play AoS with low FPS'', reading and experimenting I found the solution for this problem: Play AoS with shitty PC.

So, if you have this problem, you need 'evolve' your great computer to a shitty computer (Only in AoS).

How can you do that?
- When you open AoS Client, you can go to Windows Manager Task > Processes > Right Click on ''Client.exe'' (AoS' Client process name) > Use only 1 (ONE) CPU for AoS

I have Windows in Spanish so...

Click there and mark only 1 CPU

I mark only CPU 1, and unmark CPU 0.

With this, Low FPS problem should be solved.

How much more fps did you get by doing this?

If your "excellent computer" gets screen lag, you should re-evaluate how excellent it is.

I have heard of other single threads slowing down with hyperthreading so forcing the use of just once core actually makes some sense.

- I get around 25 FPS with this.

- Well, is really excellent, but in AoS that ''Excellent'' is meaning of: BOTTLENECK > Slow Sistem Response

Thanks.

I do see how going single-core could improve it.

Sonarpulse mentioned a possible reason for it.

As it is a single-threaded process (as far as I know), it doesn't make use of other cores anyway. As long as you're not restricting it to a core that you're forcing a bunch of CPU-intensive stuff to run on too, it shouldn't do any harm. I'm guessing that, depending on your system, HT can sometimes cause a bit of a problem. If you're not using a processor with HT though (non-intel or old intel), then this is unlikely to do anything.

I did this and got banned on a server... wtf.

I'm glad I don't have any problems, using a 2 core processor and not a single problem. Always in 50+ FPS range.

If you have a switchable GPU setup, go with the integrated GPU. It'll be less likely to act like it's more important than you by rendering frames just to drop.
