Definitely yes, easy to modify player skins, easy map making tools, and an open source server will keep new content flowing

No, it can't live beyond Opengl and might die off completely after they launch 1.0

I personally believe as long as there is a place to foster creativity voxlap will live on forever. :blue:

The fact that it is free will definitely make it live longer.

I also think that there should be a community initiative to create an AoS like game that will be open source and be maintained by the community.

I think that once the OpenGL version is released, then Jagex will take down all the download threads on the official forums for the voxlap version and we will be the last ones left. Voxlap won't die immediately of course, but there will be a much much larger portion of the AoS community on OpenGL. It will be like voxlap died.

It'll most likely live longer than the OpenGL version, but you never know what Jagex might do, may it be good or bad I still think it's going to die faster than the Voxlap version.

If this happens, I'm pretty sure it'll live.
Which is I am gonna push for this.

Voxlap is swell, I voted 'maybe yes' since it could go down at any moment. We need other games to use it that aren't ace of spades for it to work. Anyone wanna create a strategy game, real time settlement game, racing game, in voxlap?

I actually think the opposite. Opengl will always have a smaller audience than voxlap. Simply because voxlap is free.

And then Jagex will sue anyone who uses voxlap.

I personally hope all the deuces go play OpenGL so Jagex is happy and all the people who can aim with the rifle and don't need an aimbot can play vxlp.

With that said...
- if you incorporate remakes, yes.
- I don't know how long the OpenGL version will be supported. Assuming the voxlap versions die off at launch, treating the launch date as the "birth date", this would be a very interesting question where I suspect the answer might actually be "yes".

a lot of people probably will not buy the full version of this game, so it might. I don't really know, it depends if the opengl version is going to be really good or something, but even then maybe the voxlap version will end up becoming better

I voted maybe no because OpengGL will draw new players more than voxlap.
