How to destroy a map (professionally)

I was playing on aloha.pk's faceoff map just fine until I saw this one guy cutting a line dividing our land into two, left to right, up to down. (His name was SMP.) So I joined him in doing it (for absolutely no reason), and others did the same.
His plan was to level half of our land so that we would not be able to be touched by the blue team. Nobody objected to the idea, so half of our team got to work.
Once we finished the cut, he started to excavate the bottom. Completely. We did the same, just for fun. Before we knew it, we were 25% completed. Then 50%. Then I decided to start recording, but by the time I got it to work, the madness was just starting.
As you can see, there is a very long line cut through the map. You can also see that nobody's trying to cross it. If you crossed it, you would actually fall through the blocks and die. So I decided to investigate and dug down into the excavation site.
That's right; there's only a pair of blocks left to destroy. But before I could get to it, I died... and the game crashed. Somebody did it. They took out the last block.
When I rejoined... IT HAPPENED.
I have about 30 minutes of aftermath footage, but it's boring so I won't bother posting it here.

The whole excavation project took about 2 hours to do, but it was totally worth it.
