Hi everybody! I'm writing because I've found that, for all the evolution the site has gone through, there is still no official information on the game to be found.

Without a user's guide, an in-game tutorial and introduction, or even an About page, there is exactly zero accessible information on what the game is, what you can do in it, or how you can do it.
An Information section of the site, or a downloadable user's guide would make the game more accessible and intuitive, and the site a more credible way to play Ace of Spades.

Thanks for reading and say if you agree! Green_BigSmile

Note: I do realise most people will see nothing wrong with just searching the forums: see below.

If you would look with your eyes and search the forums. There are threads about everything you are asking for.
Threads for Mods, sights and how to install them for your game. Threads for scripts and how to host your own server. Player made tutorials about the game mechanics and features. I know you're new but there are buttons to click to see what you're looking for so don't be ignorant and search the forums a bit.

Hello there! MrFritz is correct - the resources for players are located on the forums. However I do like your idea of concentrating the relevant links/information to one singular area. It's an intuitive idea that would make things easier for all concerned.

Right, part of my point (although I stupidly forgot to include it) was that searching through the forums is an inefficient, unpolished way to find information. It's unorganized and not a very obvious place to look for basic information on the game. I'm sure plenty of people (like myself) never touch the forums for anything except to share an idea or maybe as a last ditch effort to get technical support after going through the official stuff. I will, however, look for those threads, thanks Green_BigSmile

If you would look with your eyes and read the OP. He was talking about:
official information, an About page or An Information section of the site to make the game more accessible and intuitive
That is cleary not the same as searching for pieces of information on the forum and rifle through lots of irrelevant or outdated posts. I totally agree with OP here.

I know you prefer to post like an asshole but there are threads about that to click http://www.buildandshoot.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10833 to see what you're doing wrong so don't be ignorant and search the forums a bit.

You must be new here. So let me introduce myself. I am one the few handfuls of people who actually gives a fuck about this community. The forums are oppressed with hatred and ignorance, so you're lucky you got an educated response on how to find this information from Juxta and I. Also the important threads "aka" the threads that fucking matter, are sticky'd to the sections where they deem necessary. So your statement of
rifle through lots of irrelevant or outdated posts.
is a very ignorant comment. Laziness also annoys me, so look for yourself the information you're looking for because It is very easy to stumble on.

Guys chill, while Fritz's post wasn't specifically addressing what Cosmo was asking about, it still was relevant information about how information has been distributed amongst the community thus far. Like I said I'll take this idea to the site admins and we'll see what can be done about it as I personally am all for an encompassing "About" or "Information" page.

I was talking to MrFritz.

Again, having to rifle through posts and sections, subsections and subsubsubsections isn't exactly accessible and intuitive. That is actually why there used to be a regulary updated wiki around for example, giving you all the basic entry level information on the start page. And sorry, but your "introduction" now is more of a arrogant, narcissistic expression than anything helpful, just as your "educated response" with zero information content ("read the forum").

This went from helpful to hindering in about 0.08934 seconds.

Get over it, and stop derailing the thread please.

We will see what we can do? An old idea was to create a master thread which linked everything someone one new would need to get started. We ended up added too much and it became bulky and more confusing than trying to search for it. Might revive that project.

I think he means information about AoS itself, not how to mod it, play it and host servers etc. He means a paragraph describing the game itself would be helpful. I agree, so new people can find out what this game is about. I think this would be a good edition to the videos showplacing AoS.

A wiki would be a cool idea but I think that having an about page with some videos and a small guide would be fine
