that are a few years old but should be still good enough for you or you buy a pc completely on your own. There are enough tutorials in the internet.
For the germans, this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iWA--BN74w has a nice tutorial how to build one on your own and releases every 2 months new configuration suggestions. For example a 300 € pc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyHbWMZ5eS8.
I have a 3 years old acer laptop that costet 500 € back then and i can't run many games but openspades on highest settings with 60 frames.
I know tons about computers, and right now you could get a 40-60 buck GPU (7750, or r7 240) that can decently play regular games, sub 1080p and Low settings, but at about 30-40 frames on stuff like bf3, let alone OS. The only reason that the requirements is a big issue is that fact that 60% of the playerbase are here because it was one of the only games they could play. Laptops could jump for AMD A6 or higher laptops, and be totally fine also.
And it won't split the community anymore that it already is. I honestly think it would be better because it would increase traffic to the website. The real problem would start to happen when the chasm between the two become great, like when more weapons are added etc.

I honestly don't think whether use use OS or not will increase the traffic. We can still bring in more players with 0.75 or 0.76. We just need to advertise I guess.

Yeah advertise a game that is years old and there is no way to move forward. Every potential player either plays it, played it but not anymoore or doesnt like it.

At this moment, it would help tons. People still play AoS despite the fact that it won't be updated and we're slowly gaining new players.
There are games a lot older than AoS that have never been updated for years and people still play it.

Who would advertise? And the games older than AoS are solid games, very easiily modded, and can add tons of content to, like BF2 or ArmA II... We can't do anything like that in it's current state.

Anybody could advertise if they want to and we're given a lot of stuff to modify. It may not be that much, but it's enough to keep players entertained.

I hear people talk about advertising alot, but how do you propose that to happen?

Dan is currently living off the ad revenue from BnS while also using it to pay for the site so I thought I would use my head and infer that we have a reserve in case something were to happen as well as excess(left over) revenue.
