Interesting interesting, i must agree the status of it isnt fairing to well right now. Although a good amount of this is external (1.0's failure, etc.) a lot of it is internal as well. While playing on random popular servers i find it increasingly annoying to see hackers, teamkillers, etc. running around just making the whole experience unpleasant. Not to mention the poor map choices. So far the only active admins i've seen are on aloha. I think having more active server admins on more servers would gravely help the amount of fun the average player has, as well as helping other server gain popularity. It'd be a good first step at least imo. This is mostly pertaining to .75 though, i havent played .76.

Agreed, this is a huge problem that's killing away the players we have. However, there is nothing we can do about this epidemic code wise, we can't edit anything, so we can break any hacks. Not entirely sure that scripts would work, so the only way to fix this would be manpower, and to be honest, that's something most of these servers do not have.

Yeah it's a shame that classicgen is empty and that there are no active 0.76 servers, which confuses me because 0.76 is better.
In the old days before the steam edition, servers were a lot more populated and there was more variety. (Anyone remember the Jestservers?)

I think the future is grim for BaS, This is first time I've viewed the forums in months.
What we need to do is gain the support of people who have left AoS because of JaGex,rather than changing 0.7x farther.

What good would that do? Mostly everyone who left because of Jagex is playing the game, and all they would do is demand a free version of AoS 1.0.

The Vets would do exactly what the rest are doing: Trying to kill arena and gimmick maps in fire, and trying to kill everything but the Rifle and classicgen.

Even when we get them, what are we asking them to do?

I think the other weapon choices in AoS are good because they bring variety to the game.
What I don't really understand is why almost nobody plays 0.76, it's better in every way. And it's also a pity that the classicgen servers are always empty, eventhough the map is hella fun.

I prefer 0.75 as the rifle is better at long range which allows you to stay hidden more, what I mean by good maps is maybe a server should host ONE map made by the map makers recently. Lost motel makes great maps yet not a single server that is populated has them that is why everyone is on aloha babel now. Not because they want to but because it has the only decent maps.

Diversity is what has kept me in this game as long as I have been. I never stay this long for a game. If there wasn't so many options I'd have been bored along time ago. Just ask your favorite server admin too add it to the rotation. Most will be happy too.

I don't think that AoS has become what we hated most. The players have become what we hate the most. The game doesn't change the players do. Everything that has changed was because, the players asked. I don't hate any game mode I just like some more than others. But every game goes through phases. This will eventually change yet again into something new. For better or worst.

what server admins? aloha sure hasn't been doing anything as there are always hackers and/or greifers in most servers and not a single admin on. These are during times when admins should be on like when the game is at its highest play count. I do not have a problem with the players aside from the ones that hurt my experience but rather then servers for hosting old maps and not moderating the ones they host.

Both the gameplay and community make a game so even if there are some aspects I enjoy a lot this isn't the game it was a year ago when goon haven and shams were hosting amazing maps and minit was moderating their goon assault server.

idk jdrew i have yet to see you beep me (or anyone else) on IRC about a hacker on aloha server. people can cry all day but not reporting usually doesn't help it.
