I agree with the rest of the sentiment in your post, though.

what about all the people who can't even run OpenSpades? We going to abandon them just like that?
Exactly. Tired of people saying that OS is mandatory when half of the players can't even play it.
This is why BnS is not moving anywhere. Because they don't want to take what's open to them. OS is honestly the only way, it's the only promising project open to the BnS staf, and unless you want to make a better game/client that everyone can play on, you're out of luck. Just stating the facts here, because I have plenty of friends who cannot play OS either, but sadly, there seems to be no other way for BnS to move further is there? Unless someone comes out with an amazing client that saves BnS from dying in the next few months, OS is the way to go.

Is it really that hard to make a light version of openspades? May be a stupid question, but it would be nice to know.

Holy christ, are you still on this?

All you've done since you've joined the forum is try to be as melodramatic as possible about how "the game is dying and we have to save it" and blaming the entire community, which is kind of odd for someone who's only been around for a month. The game's not "dying", people are just losing interest. It happens, even with games that are still in development. And again, playing the blame game doesn't "fix" shit. If you want more people to play, get your friends to try the game out. If you want more gamemodes, learn Python. Pointing fingers and demanding everyone else do the work to "fix" things only makes people want to tell you to piss off, like right now.

And they're all right btw, OpenSpades is a lot more resource-intensive than the lightweight Voxlap version, something which actually brought a lot of people to the game in the first place. I'd have hoped someone who claims to have their finger on the pulse of the community would understand as much. It's not that they "don't want to take what's open to them", it's that they're unable to.

Trying to generate controversy out of nothing is easy to spot, especially for me, it's what I spent the better part of a year around here doing. Nothing's dying, different isn't always better, and just chill out, for real, it gets annoying to hear about the "omg massive issue" every few weeks.

Oh god, YOU are still on this? What the hell have you honestly think I have been doing? I've learned to work with Slab6, mess with scripting, and HELL, Im even trying to code! How about for once you stop trying to criticize people, and DO something like you are so advent on everyone else but you to do?! I'm trying, YOU aren't. And seriously, people losing interest=dying. Whoever told you that wasn't the case told you a lie. And I as said plenty of times, I've been here from the start, just as a casual player. I just recently decided to step being because it KINDA is dying, you have you not noticed it? All BnS has done is prolonged it's death. I would really like to say I understand where you are coming from, but I don't, because you are as chill as ever with the game suffering, and waiting for an impossible means to get the ball rolling, which probably won't happen. YOU are waiting for another train out of a collapsing city when there is one waiting for you, and if it leaves, who knows if there will be another one? YOU are telling someone who is trying to help move things forward to stop what he is trying to do and leave. YOU who has done nothing but criticize is trying to call me out? Doesn't work that will, never will. I'm tired of you trying to incite flamewars with me because honestly, I don't care, and I'm just trying to move an idea of a game we all love forward, but as stated before, THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO WITH AoS .75 and .76 ANY FURTHER. This game has become stagnant, in fact I was basically gone until I found out about OpenSpades. Seriously, something needs to be done, and unlike you, I'm doing something else but whine about people pointing out ways.

I wasn't aware you dictate what can and cannot be posted. I'll be sure to keep that in mind Mr. Lawman.

Bitching, moaning, and fear-mongering is all I've seen.
I've learned to work with Slab6, mess with scripting, and HELL, Im even trying to code!
Just looked, you do make mods, but they appear to be only for OpenSpades? At least that's how you're pushing them.
How about for once you stop trying to criticize people, and DO something like you are so advent on everyone else but you to do?! I'm trying, YOU aren't.
Uh, no. You're the one demanding change and yammering on about some coming doomsday for the community, I'm just sitting back and enjoying the game I always have. I'm not trying because there's nothing to try for.
And seriously, people losing interest=dying. Whoever told you that wasn't the case told you a lie.
I suppose in a way that's slightly true, but still, no. People lose interest, and people gain interest as well. A large number of the old community barely plays anymore, but more people came around and started playing.
And I as said plenty of times, I've been here from the start, just as a casual player. I just recently decided to step being because it KINDA is dying, you have you not noticed it? All BnS has done is prolonged it's death.
So BnS is prolonging the death. And yeah, no shit it's gonna die. All games do. People get bored with them, no matter what the circumstances.
I would really like to say I understand where you are coming from, but I don't, because you are as chill as ever with the game suffering, and waiting for an impossible means to get the ball rolling, which probably won't happen. Doesn't work that will, never will.
The problem here is you refuse to see things through my point of view. You're always going to sit here and see yourself as the grand savior of the "collapsing city". If you're not even going to try and comprehend the possibility of me being right, like I've tried to do with you, then you're not at all worth talking to. Enjoy your echo chamber.
I'm tired of you trying to incite flamewars with me because honestly, I don't care, and I'm just trying to move an idea of a game we all love forward, but as stated before, THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO WITH AoS .75 and .76 ANY FURTHER. But that's exactly what you're doing right now. And yeah, no shit there's nothing that can be done. Again, newer does not always mean better. I really don't buy that you've been here the whole time, because there's been plenty of update that have displeased people, and had them wanting to go back to an older version, .75 being one of them. If me placing my opposing opinion on here is your idea of a flame war, maybe you should have left, since socializing within a community doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

This may seem repetitive, but OpenSpades is the only way to get out the this rut, because We cannot do anything further with AoS.

It's long overdue for the community to embrace it. Or else it'll die off, and Openspades could potentially go with it...
