I'd much rather say that the rifle is underpowered rather than the smg overpowered (in 0.75). The rifle should have its pinpoint accuracy back, although maybe a smaller clip (I've always reloaded after the first shot anyways) and a decrease to body damage.
I think you just described 0.76

I said this before, I would have preferred to replace hitscans to simulate bullets with actual projectiles effected by gravity for all bullets.
I think damage drop off would be fine already, bullet drop isn't really necessary for the distance on this game, but I guess it'd work too and make the game more interesting. damage drop off + bullet drop together could also work

Is it just me or do the bullets fly up in 0.75 as if they have anti-gravity effects on them?

might be bullet deviation and he is feeling most of the bullets deviate upwards.
I, personally, get the impression that most of them go to the right, but I've seen people claim their shots go in every possible direction.

I will still claim that the smg is the favored weapon of the newbs, and it is, 99% of the time it's a sign of a unskilled player, not someone who has learned how to use it properly (i.e. colorpinpoint). You can use it all you want, but I will still consider you a noob.
pffft someone has clearly had bad days caused by people using SMGs. I'm sure you'd say the same about rifles or shotguns if you get owned by them on a daily basis.

Tell them to join rifle only server or host one if they think SMG is such an annoying and overpowered weapon and keep blaming smg users for killing them.

Just a thought from a (comparative) noob at AOS/OS.

The SMG is a noob gun, true. It is very easy to use and doesn't require much skill.

However, if it wasn't for noob guns, no noobs would play, and the game wouldn't grow. Remember AOS is for crappy PCs, those with these types of PC aren't very likely to have pro skills :)

I like the rifle, but just use different guns in different circumstances.

There are games that are not very forgiving to new players, such Counter-Strike (no health regen, different game mechanics than most other FPS games, etc), yet it is still quite popular.

And I don't understand your logic when you mean that people with bad computers do not have very good skills. Sure, they might perform worse because of a low FPS the game is being played, or lag being caused by a bad internet connection, but these are nothing to do with skill.

True. As to counter strike though, I find it utterly different to AOS, far less tactical, seems in a different class almost.

As to the skill, all I was thinking is that a lack of experience (due to lack of a good PC to run games on), will mean that a person might not be as good as one who has a rig that can run it all, and does run it all, frequently.

Good points though.

CS is super easy to get used to for new played. Try Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, then talk about unforgiving to new players.

I have about 80hrs played on CS:GO, and I'm still not that good at it.

That's not a matter of a tough learning curve, that's an issue of individual ability, or lack thereof.
