I don't think this is necessary for iceball to succeed. I think the jury is still out on whether AoS if Jagex hadn't shown up should be considered a fad. I see two things however which could definitely give iceball some lasting prominence:
  1. It runs onLlinux AND performs well on computers with a bad grahics cards/drives. Linux desperately needs games like this.
  2. The immense modding capability, and the ability to propagate mods will spawn endless new game modes if the community keeps enough interest. This will hopefully be a positive feedback loop.
Also we should do an android (and maybe iphone) port. Even if anybody using those controls will get pwned, it's a good publicity stunt. I mean what game has PC and mobile players in the same game? If mobile phones' limited per thread speeds become a problem, openGL/openCL will help. (My guess is that since openCL is more low-level, and openGL 3D is mainly tailored to polygonal rendering, the former might be better.)

EDIT: Raiku, your stats there are awesome! We are almost on par with Jagex's numbers, and I'll look on the bright side and say that is more important than the declining total player count.

In the future, BnS will most likely move away from Ace of Spades classic and more towards Iceball.

Ace of Spades 1.0 will lose millions of dollars and Jagex will ultimately add even more P2W elements to Runescape to make up for it. Subsequently making everybody at the Runescape zone rage and quit. Thus losing all sources of income for Jagex. Thus making them close down.
Not quite sure, even though you clearly dislike Runescape, alot of people still play it daily. I am not one of them, just acknowledging that they do have a decent player base.

A Let's Play. You should know if you have any youtube gamer subscriptions.
Most Let's Plays are awful...just...awful. They also tend to feature 9 year old kids who sound like they're singing Soprano when they talk...which I could potentially forgive if the stuff they talked about wasn't so damn inane and boring. If I could physically reach through my computer and slap the next person who posts a "Minecraft: Let's Play" on Youtube, I swear to gawd, I would.

90% of all Let's Plays on Youtube are some kid chopping wood for 10 minutes straight on Minecraft.

Well, I follow Paulsoarsesjr, and his LP's are pretty entertaining. It depends a lot on the youtuber.

So I'd like to request that any Youtuber or blogger or any streamer make an AoS LP, since without videos, we are going to be unable to attract the world at large.

Youtube List:
I'm not much of a person that records dialog when playing a game, but I do record almost all of the AoS rounds i play. Mostly from aloha.pk babel and infiltration. I probably have hours of gameplay.
