Hi, dont know where to post this suggestion so ill just put it right here. I ctrl-c+ctrl-v this from my original suggestion from the new Ace of spades suggestions (link to my original thread about it)

I would like to add to the game, bayonets
it should be added to make CQB much deadlier and
less desireable to help nerf the submachine gun powers. Its pros and cons are
Pros
Instakill
Quiet
Good means of self defense
Helps balance the game
Cool bayonet charges
Cons
Slow recovery time
when in use you cannot do anything
makes the gun longer (less stealthy)
Can only be equipped on rifles

Its gives added diemensions to the game and changes how AoS is played
In game, the player can choose to fix bayonets, it should be a feature that is optional and doesn't need to be unlocked simply an option if the player chooses

I know there has been alot of suggestions for this but i hope to make my thoughts on it would make the best of it
Due to the dawn of modern machine guns, the bayonet being rifle mounted only should encourage the use of rifles further

There is the spade, use it.
Wait, this is better than spade. Nah, i don't support. UNLESS it could do something other than killing people at really, really close ranges, i will support this idea.

My suggestion says it would be silent, the spade is fairly noisy.
Besides, you'll be able to deal with the threat much quicker than switching to your shovel

Take semi.kv6.

Open it in Slab6.

Add a knife onto the end of the gun.

Save as spade.kv6 in the Ace of Spades folder.

You are now able to switch to using your bayonet the way you would normally switch to your spade.

Until such a time as voxlap modification can be realised, that's the best I can come up with.

Personally, I'd take a cue from Freedom Fighters -anyone else remember that game?- and have a "melee attack" button that'd do some damage no matter what you had equipped. The spade and the rifle would be the most deadly, the SMG and shotgun would be middling and the player's fists (if you had blocks or grenades equipped) the least damaging.
An "insta-kill anyone you collide with while sprinting" function for the rifle only might be something to look into as well, but probably as an optional server setting.
