I have a friend who wants to play this too but we cant get it running.
It seems to install just fine because when you click on a server the browser asks if you want to use AOS,but you get instantly the error message : connection failed
anyone knows whats going on and how to fix this?

This really weird, but I get this sometimes too. It just says connection failed for every server. I just have to try again later and it seems to work.
Every problem, ever, can be solved with patience

What version of the game client did you install? Make sure you're trying to connect to servers for that version.

That's weird I have never had a problem like that, unless the server is actually down.
It might be a version conflict, are you sure you installed the right version?

Not that I have the same issue, I want to chime in I am running Win7 64Bit without issue, so don't think that is the relevant factor.
You may want to try reinstalling the Build and Shoot Launcher, and then make sure all MSI Install packages are installed using the launcher. Also make sure your not running any kind of internet security suite or software firewall that may be blocking communication with the network.
Also, sometimes the server list isn't always updated with the proper player count, so when joining games it will error out if the game is full, sometimes I have had it stick the dialog behind the game init window, so it just appears to be stuck.
