Hey,
I really would like to see more gaming nights/events etc, as there only seems to be a few now and then and always put together by the same people. I'm just making this thread to remind everyone that it is really really simple, and is always great fun :] so below are the steps you need to take to make the event as functional as possible.
- Make a post on the BnS forums in general discussion. The title should contain the name of the event, the date and time. You should contain in this thread: Date/Time/Map/Game mode/IRC room/The host
- Decide on a good date and time that will suit many players, for me this is always evening GMT on a Sunday, but that is not the only workable time, then create a countdown for that time and put it in your thread: http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/create
- Make an IRC room like #AoS.Event or so on, or use a preexisting room. And be sure to mention this channel in your thread, and instruct the readers to join that IRC channel before the event is about to begin. Just when the event is about to start you distribute the server link in that channel.
- Finding a host, can't host a server? no worries! there are plenty of people in the community who are willing to help you out. So contact them and be sure they can host the server for you at that date and time.
Willing Server Hosts:
- Izzy
- Danheeze/MKU
- Silnius
- Defero200 (Build servers only)
- `10se1ucgo`
- rakiru
And if your still a little hazy on the details, here's one I made earlier! :O - http://buildandshoot.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2796

StarDust,
That happens, I often wondered if it's a matter of reputation. If your known to have done successful events before then people will take more notice this time, or the same people will remember it and come back for the new one. Bolstering numbers.
