Incorporating the Squad system into Babel

I think we should put the squad system into all Babel Maps associated with Aloha, along with the current colour scheme on the American server, across to the Australian and European servers. The squad system adds a good level of strategy to an already complex game mode. It works on other servers, so why can't it work on Babel? But yeah, with the colour scheme aswell, the dark blue and red work really, really well. Whoever let that through is a great person.

There's a reason squad scripts were left out in some servers.
For one being in a squad makes your respawn time unnecessarily longer.
Being in a squad spawns you near a squad member that is alive and most of the time who is in the middle of the battlefield, where you most likely end up dying in the same manner you did just before.
Before those issues can be resolved I'm not sure how a squad system might work out well in a game mode like babel, where everywhere in between the teams is a kill zone.

Every time I play Babel, I can see how a squad system would be very useful. I think because it is such a hectic game and the front line is often poorly defined, it could be used to quickly build a fort or empty one out. It'd be really useful, I think.

For squads, it would be better to make it so that only a single designated person was the one players spawn to (who would also be the person who forms the squad). That way, this guy can be more careful about how he fights as opposed to the rest of his squadmates.

Squads allow for easy camping. Aloha has waves on to stop camping or at least make it harder. Putting it on would do the opposite of what other mechanics on the server aim to do.

Squads ruin everything man. They're absolutely pointless, you just assign one guy to hide and you have an endless spawn point where you can spawn trap the enemy team.

Squads are liked by the people who abuse them(example: using them to camp) and hated by the players who don't use them.

I agree with everything that has been said, and I see both sides. While it is true that it enhances the game somewhat, it is usually abused, and encourages camping. It is also quite annoying to have to wait to spawn, and when you do, as already stated, it is usually in a place that is hard to prepare for (killzone) and the cycle begins. Aloha has more of a 'personal' and 'independent' game-play style, and most of us prefer it that way.
