Wow McHawk, I don't remember you being that much of a nazi.
I'm just as much of a democracy loving libertarian as you are, but it is not good for video games. The fact of the matter is (as everyone seems to be aware of in this thread) flat maps are terrible. They appeal to kids and people who don't play tactically. The majority of people are powerless to actually do anything to reverse the trend because not everyone has the capacity to host a reliable 24/7 server. Not to mention that people will blindly join servers they are "fans of" and when those servers play the same maps over and over again, nobody gets access to different servers that have stagnant numbers. AoS is shit now because of the same reasons I talked about years ago when the community started going downhill. And now since there is a lack of diversity of servers, nobody has the opportunity to snipe or dig or explore hugs maps, nobody wants to stay, and the community will continue to become more and more homogenized and fizzle out of existence once they too, become bored.
I know it's a popular map, but this is ridiculous.

I'm just as much of a democracy loving libertarian as you are, but it is not good for video games.Yeah, choices are bad for video games!
The fact of the matter is (as everyone seems to be aware of in this thread) flat maps are terrible. They appeal to kids and people who don't play tactically.Except that's not a fact. That's an opinion.
The majority of people are powerless to actually do anything to reverse the trend because not everyone has the capacity to host a reliable 24/7 server. Then they should find someone that can? That new hosting thing looks like it would work in this situation. Or if enough people are interested they could probably hit up someone like the Aloha admins and see if they'd be down to host it.
Not to mention that people will blindly join servers they are "fans of" and when those servers play the same maps over and over again, nobody gets access to different servers that have stagnant numbers. Are you trying to imply that people playing something they like is bad?

That's just gonna happen. If you're really that bored then maybe it's best that you just leave instead of trying to force the whole community to drop what they like and cater solely to you.

Yes he's a Nazi for encouraging people to play what they want in a game where you have the ability to. The one thing I remember about Hitler and the Nazis is that they wanted everyone to be free to do what ever they want.

The opinion of me and everyone else that abandoned this place. The fact of the matter is (as everyone seems to be aware of in this thread) flat maps are terrible. They appeal to kids and people who don't play tactically.Except that's not a fact. That's an opinion.
Myself and dozens of other individuals have asked the people that own aloha or minit or whomever (ik there were other popular servers back then) to do host larger maps/classic games modes and nobody has.The majority of people are powerless to actually do anything to reverse the trend because not everyone has the capacity to host a reliable 24/7 server. Then they should find someone that can? I don't care if they like it, but it should be one of many flourishing communities in AoS which can support so many different forms of play, instead of the only dominant one. The other issue I didn't bring up is just that it perpetuates itself. I've spent lots of time playing on repetitive Hallway or anticbridge maps simply because no other non-empty servers exist. hundreds of people aern't going to simultaneously and spontaneously change their mind and diversify. Not to mention that people will blindly join servers they are "fans of" and when those servers play the same maps over and over again, nobody gets access to different servers that have stagnant numbers. Are you trying to imply that people playing something they like is bad?

I did leave. And after deciding to visit after two years I can see that you're still having the same problems as before and I'm only giving you a simple explanation of what you've done wrong.
I make maps :3
My dedicated server is NOT up and running... soz

The opinion of me and everyone else that abandoned this place.Yes, and "opinion" and "fact" are the exact opposites of each other.
Myself and dozens of other individuals have asked the people that own aloha or minit or whomever (ik there were other popular servers back then) to do host larger maps/classic games modes and nobody has.Too bad, I guess? There's a few classicgen servers up right now, go play on them with your friends.

The other issue I didn't bring up is just that it perpetuates itself. I've spent lots of time playing on repetitive Hallway or anticbridge maps simply because no other non-empty servers exist. hundreds of people aern't going to simultaneously and spontaneously change their mind and diversify.Exactly, they're not. They're going to play what they like. And you can either do the same and play what you enjoy or bitch and moan about other people having fun while you aren't.
I did leave. And after deciding to visit after two years I can see that you're still having the same problems as before and I'm only giving you a simple explanation of what you've done wrong. So you haven't been around for two years but you're passing judgment on the community like you know everything about it. Alright.
