Due to playing for a while before the smg and shotgun came out, I've personally came to hate them both. Semi is best for its range and 1 shot kills, but the smg can score the same though its accuracy is not exactly determined. I've always had problems with fighting the smg users even at a far distance that would normally give me the upper hand. Shotgun has some points where it will do the same within the range it shouldn't have. Just ranting since I saw this thread had:

If both see each other at the same time, the rifle almost always wins due to this. This is only if you get lucky and get an headshot. The random spread makes this more difficult, and once you miss you are fucked and you get sprayed by the SMGer.
Besides, if you are far away enough that you are likely to miss a well placed headshot or bodyshot, then the SMG ain't gonna hit for shit either way.

You would need any of those hacks, the SMG has almost no recoil. Most maps on 0.75 don't have the right conditions for an rifle to excel, why do you think almost everybody is using the SMG?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but spread is usually very much random: the cone of fire of a weapon is the area in which a shot will land, at the end of a randomly-determined trajectory.
