Progress
- First person tools rendering fully works now (best thing: the KV6 gun scope is just where the cursor is, so you kinda aim using the KV6 voxels and a point in the screen centre instead of having a scope.png)
- Spade left click implemented
- Rifle can shoot now, but only breaks blocks; I have working KV6 intersection code though, so I can make it hit players
- No crashes when looking up or down
I wonder whether I have to write my own physics code or can take the one from PySnip. The law says that it's allowed to create a client that connects to PySnip and uses the .75 protocol packets, it only may not use the AoS name, logo etc. and it may not contain reverse-engineered code from the classic client. On one hand, exactly the same code is included in the classic client, on the other hand, Ben just gave the physics code to Mat. Rewriting it may become difficult, since smallest changes would make players move fully differently, resulting in big lag.
Btw, anyone wanting to upload videos to YT? I have a second .swf video, but BnS doesn't want to load .swf files :/

Edit: I really hope we can use this as an alternative client AND a new game. Like you can connect to AOS servers and everything would work how it would in .75/.76 and you could connect to servers made for this game with new shit to play around with (MG42's, Tanks, Jeeps etc.)

It's hard to screenshot how a gun shoots and destroys a block or a spade swinging. That's why I am trying to upload videos. @Frocs: I put both on the first post.
Slab6 is complicated and hard to use. I can't recognize the pivot and when I tried to mod a spade it was reversed and I didn't even notice that...
So I guess, a new KV6 editor would be convenient. However, I'm busy enough with Voxlap and the client, and I don't think anyone else would ever start writing one, even if I can give the source of the modified Voxlap.
Btw, it's certainly possible to make a new game out of a client without even changing anything in the protocol xD

LeCom, I'd like to offer my services for any images you might need now or later on. Any GUI, Logos, Banners, Particles, Etc.... Just message me or add me on Skype and I'll help you out. :)
And if it could be modded easily that would be awesome. Especially if mods could be downloaded automatically when you join a server, so you can seamlessly join a GTA-themed server etc.. Don't know how easy that is to do in the future, but I think it would be quite cool. A game that evolves is a game that doesn't die. :D
