when you post something in B&S you see youre profile why dont we add clans like
MMSA
CLAN:{-AS-}
can you please think about it as clans are one of the most active topics in B&S community

We had something like this in the old Forums..
Not sure if it would be too much trouble to add it again, but then again you could just use a clan signature.

signature are good but i like the clan thing more

This would be too much work IMO, they would have to make a rank and then ad every member to it and then manage it so lets say for instance someone leaves then the whole rank has to be edited. Signatures are easier and less of a hassle.

no no no we don't need admins to add it they can add a clan option from the "User control panel" and no need for the rank clan is enough

I don't think he means each and every specific rank, just probably Leader and Member. Like on the second Forums.

True. You can add more customisation to a signature, whilst with a tag (whatever you call it..) well, there's not much you can really do with it.

I suggest just using a clan signature, I'm sure Jdrew agrees.

Honestly I think thats a good idea. Maybe if you just put in some information YOURSELF, like people do with location. So if I'm in UAV, I can just put Clan:UAV in there, and if you leave it blank it doesn't show up.

Sounds like a neat idea MMSA, I hope people actually take it seriously.

Yea, it actually would be a nice thing to do.

So basically a Rank field in UCP and in Profile? Sure thing, if that is all you need.

Well, I don't think that is too hard to do. And besides, this feature was in the old forums too, so why not bring it back?

The feature was relatively easy to use for the admins because the privilege was only given out to leaders and members of the clans which had their own sub-section. There were pages and pages of clans in the old forums but only a few successful ones with their own sub-section. With the countless clans created every month, the open rank system would be a literal shitstorm of 1-post-users and generic clan names.
