rateing servers: choseing who is on top and who is on bottom

So I think we should have a rating system for servers. There would be 5 stars you can click on next to the server on the server list page. Servers above 3 stars would be put on the top of the list like stormwind and aloha then servers below the three stars are put below the average servers which are ranked as 3 stars by default. The server filter would then be set to 'by rate' from default but can be changed to players This would stop servers that run only one kind of map like hallway to always be at the top and allow for better servers that have decent maps to get more players.

I was going to say something constructive but then I looked at the title... Wasn't experiment time over?

Nonetheless its a good idea jdrew, the other servers should be better advertised on the website, so the most of the AoS players won't be playing Hallway 24/7 or Pinpoint 24/7... there are servers that have more interesting maps, i.e. Shams Little Pony server (don't mistake it with My Little Pony) and it's map New Fort.

They are one and the same.
Ok fail. I don't play this server these days.

how about a rating system for users,
and users with a negative rating are muted (invisible posts in the forum)

I can't wait for everyone to down-vote servers run by people they don't like regardless of the actual server quality.
Also, can't wait to up vote all my friends servers because they're my favorite :D

There's absolutely zero chance that this'll be abused.

I never said it was perfect and stuff would need to be put in place but overall it is a good idea I think

It's an interesting idea but I feel like it can be abused really easily. If anyone doesn't particularly like one server set, they can make loads of accounts to rate all of the servers poorly. Likewise, if any server has rather corrupt administrators, they could make lots of accounts with the purpose of boosting their rating to one higher than deserved. People should find out for themselves what they like, not rely on the opinions of others.
However, what if there were to be a "favorites" system, where each individual user would be able to "favorite" some of the servers that they enjoy most and possibly have something in either the user hotbar on the site or the bns launcher that enables them to connect to said servers more quickly than previously? I would be all for this, as it just makes things easier for each individual user, without having the potential of being abused and without the potential negatively influencing new members of the community.

Some time passed since last post here, still this sentence is - ironically a reality in #aos.
When you have servers based on popular demand:
Hallway everywhere (pinpoint didn't have players that time)
Scope on 1/3 of servers:

HALLWAY IS THE ONE TRUE AOS MAP

Seems like a good idea
but some idiot could just go running around making all the other servers look like shit and have his server on top :/
but I doubt that will happen, the community isn't THATbad
